This asparagus goes particularly well with grilled Asian cuisine, such kebabs or satay.

Very good way to prepare asparagus. I left out the sesame seeds but may use them next time. I also pan fried rather than grilling, in a little bit of oil for about 10 min and the were great.
If my family and I enjoy a recipe it gets 5 stars. I have made this twice, the first time it was perfect, the last time I found it was a little heavy on the sauce, probably because I left in marinating in a ziplock for about an hour, which the recipe does NOT call to do, so my bad. Next time I may add a little lemon to it for a little more tartness, and I’ll give the asparagus a quick soaking and then quickly on to the grill. This recipe is a winner.
My favorite BBQ asparagus recipe, comes out great on either the BBQ or in the broiler!
I turned this into a light lunch. I added some snap peas and hearts of palm noodles. After reading some reviews, I used peanut oil and finished with the toasted sesame oil and sesame seeds.
I will bend and trim the stem- test one, being sure to apply just enough pressure so that it breaks off naturally, not in half. Blanch them- “It should be brine-level salty,” he says. “Even saltier than pasta water.” Drop the prepped spears in the water and let them cook for 1-3 minutes, depending on the size of the stalk. Shock them- transfer them to a large bowl of ice water.
I thought this sounded good, but it tasted awful. Too much garlic, maybe?
Good flavor. A decent twist on plain asparagus with adding an Asian flavor to it. Very quick and easy to make.
This added a nice flavor to the Asparagus, perfect as a side dish for an Asian style meal.
I’m so glad to have found this recipe and have a new way to prepare asparagus! We love the flavor combo of soy sauce and sesame oil, so this was 5 stars for us!
Added 2 table spoons of soy sauce 1/4 tea spoon of black pepper and season salt 1/4 tea spoon of garlic power Another tea spoon of brown sugar
This is so easy and delicious! Love it!!
These were a total hit. Quick and perfect.
Easy and awesome
This is an easy recipe, with few ingredients. Minimal clean-up. Everyone loved the asparagus cooked this way. ??
We thought this recipe was alright. Something was lacking to “wow”us.
This is a great recipe!!! This is how I got my kiddos to try and eventually love asparagus! I cook it in the pan vs grill and add 1/4 cup of water to make it a little bit more tender. Love the flavors together!
I used the foil method. This resulted in some limp asparagus that wasn’t especially flavorful. will not repeat.
The best! Lots of flavor!
One of my favorite ways of making asparagus. Pretty foolproof. Good with sriracha added for heat.
Great side dish with Grilled Mongolian Pork Chops! I’ve made this a several times now because of family requests. If you like a little char on your grilled vegetables, follow the recipe. I now microwave the asparagus first in the marinade on high for a minute and then finish them on the grill. Once in a hurry, I left out the brown sugar and it was fine that way too. Note that toasted sesame seed oil has a distinctive taste and is a key flavor to this recipe.
I don’t have a fine mesh grill, so I cook small things on foil to keep from losing it down between the grates. I also lightly steamed the asparagus before grilling it. Turned out very tasty.
