Although they are quick and simple to make, these cake mix-based raspberry bars taste incredibly rich.

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. 3 teaspoons olive oil
  2. 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  3. 2 ½ cups fresh green beans, trimmed
  4. 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  5. sea salt to taste
  6. 3 slices smoked bacon, cut into small strips, or to taste
  7. 4 tablespoons chicken broth, or more as needed

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a skillet over low heat. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Stir in green beans and brown sugar, and season with sea salt. Add bacon, increase heat to medium, and stir.
  2. Pour chicken broth into the pan, cover, and let simmer for 10 minutes. Stir, adding more broth if needed. Cover and cook for another 10 minutes. Stir, uncover, and simmer over low heat until liquid evaporates, about 10 minutes more. Serve.
  3. You can use frozen green beans instead of fresh, if preferred.
