Like any mashed potato recipe, I think that you have to fiddle with the seasonings and moisture additives (butter, milk, sour cream, etc.) until the taste and texture are to your liking. Myself, I prefer to add my garlic to the cooked potatoes, along with chives, salt, pepper, butter and sour cream. If you’re not a big fan of garlic, and/or are trying to watch your fats, this recipe as is looks like a keeper. . Just not for everyone, as per the mixed reviews.

Easy to make but didn’t have much flavor. Garlic added while boiling potatoes didn’t impart any noticeable flavor. Consistency was not like typical mashed potatoes after adding milk. Fairly dry and not typical consistency when made as is. This recipe is a good base for adding more things to it to your liking.

Good mashed recipe! I tripled the garlic and added some butter at the end. Will make again!

As written these are bland. I really like garlic. While I was steam drying my potatoes, I added a stick of butter and 6 cloves of minced garlic to the pan. Cooked til fragrant then added the milk to heat it up. Added the potatoes back in and then mashed them. I did triple the recipe to feed my crew.

As far as a quick and easy side dish go, these fit the bill. For our personal tastes, we had to double the garlic and add black pepper and a little bit of butter.

These potatoes were delicious. I used an additional clove of garlic, only half the amount of salt, and 1 tsp. of dried parsley (because I didn’t have fresh). I had to add a little extra milk than the recipe called for to get the potatoes creamy. Easy to make and much better than the boxed stuff. I will make again.

I added 2 tbs butter because we like our mashed potatoes buttery. I thought I had parsley but I did not so I wound up using dried parsley. Still delicious.

The garlic mashed potatoes were tasty. I added 1/4 cup of butter. I didn’t have fresh parsley, but I used 1 Tablespoon of dried parsley.

Did a few changes because the way it is written in a very bland

These are your everyday basic mashed potatoes. Nothing bad about them, however I much prefer my potatoes creamier and more flavorful, with added ingredients like butter, sour cream, pepper, etc. It seems the 4 and 5 stars reviewers all added things to the recipe. These also weren’t garlicky, so add more garlic if you want to taste it.

The recipe doesn’t call for butter .. so i just added some .. it was amazing!!

Definitely needs butter, salt, sour cream, etc.

This recipe is good. I liked it. Unfortunately, my family did not. I used half a tablespoon of butter to mildly sautéing the garlic. I added spring onions in lieu of the parsley. Then, followed the recipe to a T. Sad I will not be able to make it again.

delicious!!! I made it as you said, and some people asked for butter (I prefer a light feel) and sprinkled some 2%milk cheddar cheese and yummmmmm

I was quite surprised at how good these turned out when I made them. Added a little butter and they tasted even better!

We used those “little potatoes” and left the skin on. Followed everything else and it tasted great.

Great I love it, pretty quick and simple. I was just making it for myself by now. I didn’t add parsley since it’s hard to get in my area but i added more milk on it. Thanks for the quick cook recipe.

This was a yummy side dish with BBQ Steak Recipe (also from this website). It was a bit bland and went wonderfully with the flavourful steak. I used 1/3 cup cream and some butter. Added just enough milk to make the texture smooth. Easy to make! will definitely make more. Though next time, I’m planning on using more garlic to add in some flavour.

Great mashed potatoes!! I use dried parsley and I do add more garlic because more garlic is always good. 🙂

To make this even better, I add a few more cloves of garlic , some chopped dill and then whip the potatoes with your hand mixer. Incredible!
