Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds fresh Brussels sprouts
- 8 slices bacon
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped
- ½ cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons butter
Instructions
- Cut an ‘X’ in the core end of each Brussels sprout. Set sprouts aside.
- Place bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes; drain and cool on paper towels. Crumble.
- Heat 1 teaspoon butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat; cook and stir garlic until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Add Brussels sprouts; toss to coat. Stir in broth, salt, and black pepper; cover and cook until Brussels sprouts are tender, 12 to 14 minutes. Drain liquid from pan.
- Stir remaining 2 teaspoons butter into Brussels sprouts mixture until melted. Mix in bacon and serve.

Scrumptious
This was ok. Only 1/2 of us liked it. And there was something about the flavor that just wasnt quite right. I may make it again with some tweaks. I didnt care for the “pan sear” on the brussels themselves so i may slightly steam them and then cook the remaining in the broth with the bacon.
I didn’t like this recipe. I thought it sounded good but I like them just cooked plain in the microwave.
Prepared as-is, turned out pretty good. I would recommend adding a bit more seasoning. Also, will do a bit hotter heat at the end to turn up the crisp.
Fantastic recipe! The key I learned was cutting the x in each Brussel sprout core. That really helps soak up the garlic and the broth. Instead of dumping the broth at the end I save and dip each sprout for extra added flavor. This recipe and it’s clear and simple steps is perfect!
Kids will eat these every time.
Added some more garlic and cooked a little longer.
I made it and it came out great. I quartered my Brussels sprouts and did not use any liquid because I wanted caramelization.
Everyone in the family loves this dish. I cut the sprouts in half prior to cooking so they are a little more crispy.
Easy and tasty!
This will be the only way I will prepare brussel sprouts from here on! I do believe the brand of bacon you use makes a difference and I only cook Wright’s apple smoked. I didn’t have fresh garlic so I seasoned with garlic salt instead of salt and again at the end. Perfect. Haha no pic because we devoured it!
Made a few variations in that I used both regular bacon and turkey bacon. Was really tasty I will be using this again.
Very good. I am not particularly fond of Brussel sprouts but this made them delicious.I Thought this would be way more than we could eat. They ate them all!
I make it a lot because I love brussel sprouts and who don’t love bacon yummy…
I follow the recipe, it is my first time I cook Brussel sprouts, and I kind of like it, certainly I will cook it again
Made this for Thanksgiving . The family destroyed it . What a HIT!!! It was gone so fast I didn’t get a picture
Very good, was well liked.
I didn’t cut these in half because I had a bag of frozen, but I think next time I will use fresh and roast. I find Brussels sprouts are a little sweeter when roasted. But I would do everything else the same. Oh and I didn’t use olive oil, just used the same pan I fried the bacon in and used the drippings.
I cut the sprouts in half lengthwise and they were quick and very good. Cooked a small batch in a saucepan. Worked fine
I’ve always loved brussel sprouts and this dish did not disappoint me…it was quick easy and delicious I will definitely be making it again
These were just delicious! My new go-to Brussels sprouts recipe.
