Creamy Mushroom Garlic Sauce

This wonderful dinner will please the entire family because it is prepared in one pot with chicken, veggies, and sweet potatoes. The dressing is a mustardy balsamic vinaigrette.

Ingredients

  1. 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  2. 3 ½ ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
  3. 1 clove garlic, minced, or more to taste
  4. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  5. ¾ cup half-and-half
  6. 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  7. ¼ teaspoon salt, or as needed
  8. 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and cook until tender, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  2. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to create a smooth paste. Slowly add half-and-half and continue to stir to prevent any lumps. Add soy sauce, salt, and pepper; stir to combine. Taste and adjust seasoning to your liking.
