Creamy Horseradish Sauce for Prime Rib

  4.5 – 2 reviews

The other night, I came up with this dish to go along with the Garlic Prime Rib meal that is posted on this website. It made a fantastic pairing! If you prefer less bite from your horseradish, simply cut back on the amount that has already been prepared.

Prep Time: 5 mins
Additional Time: 1 hr
Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins
Servings: 8
Yield: 1 cup

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup sour cream
  2. 3 tablespoons prepared horseradish
  3. ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
  4. 1 dash hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)
  5. ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix sour cream, horseradish, salt, hot sauce, and black pepper together in a bowl. Chill for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to blend.

Excellent! Just didn’t care for the hint of vinegar in the prepared horseradish.

While this is typically made for prime rib, I love a good horseradish sauce on my smoked brisket. This was simple and got better the longer it sat. it did end up needing just a bit more salt and an extra couple shakes of hot sauce. I made another similar sauce from this site at the same time and this one was by far the better recipe.
