Missing an important ingredient — paprika.
Baked 1/4 pack bacon in oven for 20 min. cut up over sauteed onion & cabbage, over pasta. Delicious day after St Paddy’s day with left over cabbage.
Liked Grandma used to make
The whole family loved it!
Plain and simple, It was great!
I loved it. I added less noodles and butter and was still delicious.
sometimes we also add bacon
I salted the noodle water and added butter at the end. So creamy and delicious. Grew up with grandpa cooking this now I’m cooking it for my grandchildren.
After modifying the recipe, it became one of the better recipes of halushki or balushka that i’ve made! I would stir fry a pound of bacon on medium until it browns as suggested. Then I would pour it back on the cabbage in order for it to soften faster. Definitely add a little butter to help the process too.
Ever since I discovered this recipe, it has become a staple in my house. I was never one for cabbage, but this is delicious, especially when combined with leftover meat (pork or chicken). I only use 8 ounces of noodles, though. It truly is comfort food!
i like noodles so i perfer this recipe.
This is a great tasting side, takes care of veggie and carb.
Very tasty but needed more cabbage and onions.
This is an excellent recipe. I made minor changes. I caramelized the cabbage and onion in the butter and added red pepper flakes! Fantastic!
My younger tried eating out of the pan. We enjoyed this simple recipe.
I have nI made it, but with some modifications. – 1/4 cup olive oil & 1/4 Earth Balance – 2 med carrots cut into 3″ strips w/ peeler – 1/4 tsp garlic pwdr just before cabbage
Needed to cook the cabbage a little longer but no big deal. Still delicious.
I gave it 5 stars cause it is almost the way I make it. LOL Only difference is I fry the noodlesand onions together. I like them a little browned.
This was very good. I loved the texture of it. I used red cabbage, but next time will use green. With the red cabbage and red onion, too much red and it didn’t look appetizing. But, I couldn’t keep out of it. Thank you for sharing this yummy recipe.
It was Yummy
very good, I added some kielbasa. My husband loved it!!
