Delicious! I used 1 pound of crumbled cooked sweet Italian sausage instead of the links, extra pork n’ beans plus a can of drained kidney beans. I used some onion powder because I didn’t have an onion. I didn’t use green pepper because I didn’t have any. I put everything in a crockpot to heat up. Just the right amount of sweet, tangy and spicy! Everybody loved it! Definitely a keeper! Thanks for sharing!
Too much vinegar, next time I’ll only use 3 T.
I have made this several times with only a couple alterations. I use Kielbasa Sausage instead of Spicy link sausage and only use a minimum amount of cayenne pepper. My family always ask me to make them for family functions!
These baked beans are the best! Everyone always loves them! Only change I make is that I use a pound of ground sausage which is cooked, drained and then added to the baked beans. Great recipe!
Made this for the first time ever for a family bbq, went over amazingly and was gone before I thought to take a pic!! Tasted great, will use as my own lol.
I loved these. May have been too spicy for my husband even though I cut the chili powder in half. I used chili sauce for half the ketchup and didn’t have any sausages. I am eating the leftovers for breakfast.
On the easy scale it is really easy. This recipe also tasted really good. I gave it a one because it contained sugar and I gained weight. Therefor I feel that it is not a very good recipe even though I substituted the canned beans for beans cooked in the crock pot. I would have substituted the brown sugar for mango or pineapple if I had to do it again. The taste was there but my body paid the price with the calories and hard to accept weight the came onto my body when I ate this recipe.
My family loved it and ate every last bite. Thank you!
Sort of went by recipe 🙂 Anyway, this is my own creation. was stinkin good if I do say so myself 4 tbs chili powder 1 tbs worch 2 tbs white vinegar 1/4 cup ketchup cooked maple bacon browned red onion 4 cans maple onion baked beans
One of my favorite recipes for beans. Big hit with the family.
More than a side dish! Easy to make and everyone loves it. One of those “are you gong to make” dishes for gatherings.
The. Best. Beans. I get asked all the time to bring them to our boys fall golf trip. They are part of the tradition. I use yellow or orange peppers to add colour. I’ve added spicy Italian sausage plus a pound of fried bacon crumbled. I use maple burns beans and kinda drain the sauce as best I can, otherwise too soupy. Another tip if a bit runny, take the lid off for a bit, it will thicken. Better the next day too! 5 stars! Two thumbs!
Best Ever!! Everyone that has eaten them has loved this dish.
This is exceptional and as close to authentic Texas flavors that I have for quite some time. Moved from Texas to Tennessee several years ago and while Tennessee has many fine points and beautiful countryside vistas, their barbeque doesn’t quite compare to Texas!!!!
Everyone in my family LOVES these baked beans. They’re a little bit sweet and tangy. This recipe has quickly become a cookout staple in our house.
Made it exactly as written and they were delicious. Whole family loved them.
Tasty & easy to make.
I made this in the crock pot for convenience. I used hot Italian sausage but I couldn’t overcome the sweetness. I’ll cut back or eliminate the sugar next time but I will make again.
I played around with proportions maybe a little, but the flavor combination was amazing! I see why people ask for this recipe so often – best baked beans I have ever had!
Made it without the pork and loved the sweet smoky taste.
I could not find spicy sausage links so just used regular. Threw everything in the slow cooker and cooked on low for 4 hours. This a a really good baked bean recipe.
