Ingredients
- 1 large Yukon Gold potato
- 1 cup distilled white vinegar
- ½ tablespoon light vegetable oil
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Peel potato and cut lengthwise into 1/2-inch sticks. Rinse potato sticks under cold running water for a few seconds. Transfer to a large bowl. Add vinegar and just enough water to cover the potatoes. Let soak for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 320 degrees F (160 degrees C).
- Drain and pat the potatoes dry. Toss with oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl and transfer to the air fryer basket.
- Cook in the preheated air fryer until soft but not browned, about 16 minutes. Shake the basket and raise the temperature to 355 degrees F (180 degrees C). Air fry for 6 minutes, shake, and check for doneness. Cook until outsides of fries are crispy and browned, about 6 minutes more. Taste and adjust salt before serving.
Reviews
I hate giving bad reviews but this is way too much time and effort for a very average fry and only a whif of vinegar flavor. Air fryers are so great at cooking frozen fries in just 8 minutes total prep and cooking time then I splashed with salt and malt vinegar to taste. More buck for the labor.
Fries Tasted good but next time I will be adding more vinegar for a more defined taste of Salt and vinegar
Easy and yummy! I didn’t detect a strong vinegar flavor but I think it’s because I ate them with ketchup, which tends to mask things. Mine took less time to cook, so just adjust based on the air fryer model you have!
Very good fries not too strong on the vinegar but still has the flavor. Will make again
