- 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ¼ teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 ½ pounds salmon fillets
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions

This was fantastic! Making it again!!
Easy recipe but read reviews prior – so substituted fresh rosemary instead of dried. Also used fresh garlic clove. Added 1/2 teaspoon red flaked chili peppers. Substituted honey instead of brown sugar. Cut salt in half. Used entire marinade in baking process – just kept it covered for approx 10 minutes then low broil uncovered for approx 4 minutes Result – baked right through, nice color, good taste. Flavor not overbearing – so either would pair with flavorful sides or increase the spices in the marinade. Would try this recipe again!
Husband was very happy! I reduced sugar by half and accidently added the salt to the marinade but it was great just like that.
Ok, so I did add to the spices because like spice! I added garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne and red pepper flakes. I also squeezed the juice of an orange into it.
I used parsley flakes instead of rosemary. Super tasty and good.
Will make again, maybe swap out maple syrup for the brown sugar next time!
pretty easy to make and came out delicious. Make a bit more of the marinade for a dipping sauce.
very good, the marinade was mild and not overpowering, I would make it again
I used half of a whole salmon as that was all I had. I knew the marinade wasn’t going to penetrate the fish very well, so I diced up some Roma tomatoes and roasted them with the salmon. The tomatoes took in the marinade nicely, creating a balsalmic/tomato salsa. Yum!
soggy
really good, didn’t have any rosemary so substituted dill and cut back the olive oil by 1/4 tsp and added sesame oil…slammin good…will be making this again
Easy to make. Used my Treager. Tasted like light candy on top of my salmon.
Easy to make with a nice flavor. I made it with herb baked baby red skin potatoes and a salad that I had already planned on making with a balsamic vinegarette which is what I used for the salmon because I didn’t have regular balsamic vinegar. While family loved it. I baked it on a bed of red onions and I put it under the broiler for one additional minute. Well done.
It was pretty good, but I think I’ll keep on looking for a better recipe.
Great simple recipe. I love the salmon a little blackened- it adds an extra dimension of flavour. This is the first recipe I rated. But it was so simple and good. My kids loved it. This one is a keeper.
Followed the recipe to the letter except I cut it in half. I always said you can’t mess up salmon. I was wrong. There are so many better recipes for salmon, there is no reason to let your salmon die in vain. Look for another recipe.
Forgot the sugar in the marinade – but added about 1 tsp of maple syrup to the glaze. Tasted great.
This was so easy and absolutely DELISH. I doubled the recipe and double the garlic on top of that!
Super easy and delicious! I skipped the rosemary and it was still yummy!
I made salmon with this recipe once before, and it was delicious! Being on a budget, I bought frozen salmon, but you’d never know it with this recipe. I’m marinating my salmon right now, and will serve with couscous and brussels sprouts. The whole meal, for two, cost about $6.
Loved this….I often don’t particularly enjoy salmon dishes (it very much depends on how it is prepared) but this marinade is delicious and really well suited for salmon.
