Our Singaporean cook gave us this recipe for a spicy sambal sauce that goes well with chicken or shrimp. It comes from Malaysia.

My go to recipe for salmon. It always comes out moist and tasty.
I followed this recipe exactly, using wild caught salmon from the fish shop. What a waste of my money! It was edible but that was about the best I can say. The texture of the fish was drier than usual (even though I cooked a shorter time than directed.) And the salmon fillets oozed a kind of white material (which I know sometimes happens with salmon) – but in this case it stuck to the fillets so that they looked unsightly. I had high hopes for this recipe and was very disappointed.
I made this exactly as stated and I loved it. Being on a soft diet, this recipe was like heaven! We will eat it often even though our eating habits have returned to normal. It is so easy to prepare! Thank you!
I substituted the wine for chicken stock. Still just as good.
Easy, moist, delicious. We did 3/4 lb. fillet. Heated for 6 min. We usually have a little leftover. Not with this recipe. We’ll definitely do it again.
Husband didn’t feel like grilling the salmon tonight, and I was looking for a simple, quick but flavorful way to prepare it. This recipe was just what I was looking for! We’ll definitely be having this again…and again…Thanks for sharing!
I found this recipe when I was looking for a way to cook a couple of salmon filets that wouldn’t require the stove. It’s too hot and I don’t have AC! This recipe was perfect. I have a 1200W microwave, so I reduced the cook time to 2 minutes. 6 min would have been a big failure. Next time I’ll leave out the sugar.
This recipe is perfect. I love salmon and this is a no fail recipe. Perfectly moist and flakey.
Melt butter in dish then add rest of ingredients and cook. Serve w/yogurt dill sauce as follows: 1 cup yogurt, 1 minced onion, 1T fresh dill, 2T lemon juice, 2T EVOO, punch coriander, s&p.
Perfect for a quick meal. I rarely use the microwave for more than reheating. I buy the salmon filet from Costco and cut it down for freezing. Cooking for two. Already skinned so I cut the cooking time to 5 minutes. Adjust the seasoning to suit your tastes and you won’t be disappointed. Steamed some asparagus and dinner on the table in 10 minuets. WOW.
I love salmon any way it’s cooked. I didn’t have a lot of faith in this recipe because it was so easy and with only a few ingredients, but it was delicious! I’ll certainly use it again. My husband hates salmon and even he rates it a 4! It was moist and picked up the flavors of the seasoning. I loved the fact that the house wasn’t smelling of fish!
Easy and delicious! I usually make my salmon on the grill, wrapped in foil, with butter, lemon, lemon pepper and dill, but this is so much easier!
I made no changes and we loved it! The poaching liquid is so tasty, it would be a good soup. We also poured it over the rice we ate as a side.
Fast, great texture and flavor. I used ginger syrup (from our Moscow Mules) instead of sugar. Will probably back off the “sweet” next time — my mistake — but worked great even with just one filet. Thanks for sharing an efficient technique!
Excellent and easy!! Made this for a quick lunch. I didn’t have white wine or dill so I substituted sherry and Italian seasoning….yum!!!
Quick, easy, nutritious. It’ll be a regular on my meal list.
Absolutely wonderful simple recipe! The flavor was excellent and the salmon cooked to perfection! Perfect recipe for busy families pressed for time.
I made this in my lekue microwave steamer and it turned out perfectly! I used rosemary because I didn’t have any dill. This is definitely my new favorite recipe for salmon when I’m short on time.
Made this for a “snack” for my kiddo so I cut the recipe in half and subbed orange juice instead of lemon because he doesn’t care for lemon and added some garlic and onion powder. I was really surprised how yummy this came out really flavorful and nice and moist. He loved it and I loved how easy it was.
Very easy to make. Great flavor and not a lot of fuss or time required. I didn’t have as much salmon, so mine was finished in five minutes. Also, I didn’t have a casserole dish with a lid, so I just used some saran wrap and all went well.
This salmon is phenomenal! Cooked perfectly in 6 minutes. So simple to make.
