a simple and excellent salmon grilling method. Additionally, this reheats well for lunch the next day!

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 10 mins
Additional Time: 1 hr
Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins
Servings: 4
Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. ¼ cup brown sugar
  2. ¼ cup olive oil
  3. ¼ cup soy sauce
  4. 2 teaspoons lemon pepper
  5. 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  6. 1 teaspoon dried basil
  7. 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  8. ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  9. 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the brown sugar, olive oil, soy sauce, lemon pepper, thyme, basil, parsley, and garlic powder in a bowl, and pour into a resealable plastic bag. Add the salmon fillets, coat with the marinade, squeeze out excess air, and seal the bag. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, turning occasionally.
  2. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat, and lightly oil the grate. Remove the salmon from the marinade, and shake off excess. Discard the remaining marinade.
  3. Grill the salmon on the preheated grill until browned and the fish flakes easily with a fork, about 5 minutes on each side.
  4. The nutrition data for this recipe includes the full amount of the marinade ingredients. The actual amount of the marinade consumed will vary.

Made recipe as is presented. Baked at 400 F for 5 minutes per side – a couple of minutes loger for thicker filets- Perfect! Made it for many and receive great compliments every time! Love this!

This is the best salmon recipe we’ve used – bar none! We go to Alaska every year to fish for salmon, and this is my go to recipe. It’s simple, the marinade is excellent, and every one raves over it! We don’t always have but maybe 30-45 minutes to marinade, and it still is the best! Enjoy! Thank you HEATHER for this great recipe!

It was delicious. There were 2 husbands who said they didn’t like salmon that was marinated but they made an exception when they ate this. They really liked it

This salmon was great! I substituted oregano for the thyme. Also added a tablespoon of lemon juice. Mixed it all in a ziplock bag and marinaded it overnight. I used to think I didn’t like salmon, but I’ll be making this again.

I substituted half of the soy sauce (to salty for me) with 1/4 cup Sauvignon Blanc. Yummy! I’ll do it again.

Made this exactly as instructed and it was delicious!!! Everybody loved it and had seconds. This is a great grilling recipe!

It was great. We usually use a teriyaki marinade. This was similar, but the addition of thyme & basil gave it more savory depth. Used lemon juice not lemon pepper.

Very good recipe.

Grilled the salmon; the color and taste were great! Served it with yellow quash from the garden, quinoa and naan bread. My husband liked it was the best he’d had in awhile; I will make this again!

One of my favorite salmon recipes from AR! I have grilled and have baked with great results.

I loved this recipe! And – so did my family. I added a little ground ginger (about a teaspoon). I reserved a little of the marinade to brush on while my hubby grilled it and it was a hit all around!

Turned out well. Added a little red pepper flakes to give it a little heat. Overall a good dish.

This was a really great marinade! I let it marinate for about a day in the refrigerator (would recommend, might change your life!) and I cooked it on a countertop George foreman at 425 degrees about 4-5 minutes on both sides! Love this !!!

Had some trouble with flareup on the grill – might have been too hot – but the family loved it.
