Gochujang is used to glaze salmon filets, giving them a spicy and sweet flavor.

Ingredients

  1. 8 ounces salmon fillets
  2. 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean hot pepper paste)
  3. 2 tablespoons pineapple juice
  4. 1 pinch black sesame seeds
  5. 1 pinch white sesame seeds
  6. 1 tablespoon sliced green onions, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)
  2. Whisk together gochujang and pineapple juice in a small bowl . to form a glaze. Brush mixture over salmon and place on a baking sheet.
  3. Bake until salmon flakes easily with a fork, about 20 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle salmon with sesame seeds and green onion.
  5. If you like you can broil the salmon after baking to caramelize the glaze for 3 to 4 minutes.
  6. Gochujang can be extremely spicy depending on the brand. If you’re not used to it, add it sparingly.

I didn’t have sesame seeds and I blended up 3-4 pineapple chunks to go in the juice. Other than that I stayed with the recipe. We found it definitely good and worth repeating, but with more gochujang to amp it up a little. Definitely worth repeating.
