This simple shrimp recipe works well for a hibachi in your backyard or on a beach in Hawaii. If a beach is not in your immediate vicinity, you can broil it in the oven. Serve this pupu (entrée) or appetizer of ono (wonderful) shrimp. Depending on how quickly I want people to gobble them up, I either cook it with or without the shells. Greetings from Hawaii!

Made this for a Hawaiian themed dinner party last night and the only change was subbing cilantro for parsley (’cause hubby grabbed the wrong thing at the store). Marinated all afternoon; delicious! Every single shrimp (and we had 2 pounds) devoured! Have moved this to my favorites (and yes, will keep the cilantro!!)!!
Easy to make and delicious! I have made this on several occasions with sides of pineapple rice (Zatarain’s Caribbean rice mix) and grilled veggies. So good!
We have had it with both Chicken & Shrimp ……and its a wonderful dish either way!
This is the best, new shrimp recipe I have tried. I love shrimp (to me? A delicacy) so I love a lot of shrimp recipes but this one! The flavors are so unique, complimentary and wonderful! The only change was me using dried parsley for fresh. The rest? As is! Marinated almost two hours before grilling and I couldn’t get enough! I’m already planning my repeat performance! Thank you for this amazing and delicious recipe!!
Delicious. Used the leftover marinade to baste while on the grill. Served w roasted asparagus and rice w toasted sesame oil, soy sauce and green onions. Adding to our regular rotation.
Ono grindz bra!
Made this for company and everyone loved it. I followed the changes tacotpres suggested, cut the mayo to 1/2 cup added 1 cup pineapple juice and ground ginger it was the best shrimp ever
I made this exactly as it was written and it was very good. I marinated overnight. I will definitely make it again, but I might try what others suggested with the pineapple. It was good just as written, but I will try a little change next time.
This marinade was so easy to prepare! I used Black Tiger Shrimp, marinated for 4 hrs, and grilled on a grill pan. It was the most delish shrimp we have ever had – it was the sweet goodness tasting like lobster! Good idea to give it a try! I am thinking of trying it on chicken breast…
I loved this dish and love using my grill whenever I get the chance. This wonderful recipe was a nice change from beef and chicken. I will certainly be making it again. I made mine exactly as the recipe reads, no changes. Sounds like a lot of mayonnaise but you actually need it to keep the shrimp from drying out. I served mine with a tropical fruit salad. Yummm.
Only change I made, was Putting a chunk of pineapple between each shrimp on the skewers. They went SO fast.
Not a single change. I grilled them on my new cast iron grill skillet, 2 minutes per side, and I want to say, this is the best shrimp I’ve ever tasted, hands down. I was blown away! Definitely doing shrimp this way again!
Great recipe, but I never use mayonnaise in anything! Instead I substituted plain Greek style yogurt and it worked fine. A very tasty, fast, and easy grilled shrimp recipe.
I followed the recipe as written. The lemon pepper ruined it. It overpowered all the other ingredients. I made it again without that horrible salty lemon pepper. I used fresh lemon and cracked black pepper. It was amazing and I gave it 5 stars.
We really enjoyed this shrimp. I used large/extra large shrimp, and marinated it for about 4 hours. We cooked them for 4 minutes on a side and they were perfect, with a really nice flavor. We’ll be using this recipe again.
Really loved these – they marinated for about 4 hrs and I will let them go longer next time. The only thing I might add next time is a bit of hot pepper or sriracha, I think just a touch of spice would really amp them up (but it’s just my opinion, we really love spice in my house).
This looked so good and tasted delicious! I dove right in and forgot to take a picture.
This was amazing!! We’ve made this 4 days in a row now. We followed the recipe exactly. This will be our “go to” for grilled shrimp!!
Great recipe! Amazing flavor and really easy!! Definitely not in my comfort zone for ingredients (mayo and lemon paper?!) but well worth the try and absolutely delish!!!!! Made it for a block party and everyone loved it!!!!
We really enjoyed this one. Ran out of lemon pepper so substituted lemon zest a little fresh squeezed lemon and black pepper. Hubby loved it. Will make these again
We got a new bbq and hubby wanted to grill some scrimp. I went looking for a marinade. I thought this sounded interesting so we gave it a try. Pleasantly surprised! This was really good and we will make it again.
