This is a delicious party snack. This is extremely delicious because of the fluffy cake, buttercream icing, and strawberries. The youngsters enjoy it! Vanilla ice cream is a nice accompaniment. There won’t be any leftovers, so no need to worry!

Way way way too much salt. Two tablespoons for two cups of Mayo is about 5 times the amount of salt you would need. I would suggest starting with 1/2 teaspoon and adjust from there. I had to throw out the first batch I made due to the excessive salt. Otherwise a good starter recipe. Bobs from AL also includes horseradish and a I like touch of cayenne. Beware of the salt.
I made a slight variation of this recipe, substituted lime juice for lemon juice (only 3 tablespoons). It was fantastic and definitely something I will make again! Thanks for sharing this recipe.
Made it twice now and definitely will make again! Super easy and tastes great! Great for family with night shade allergies that can’t eat regular BBQ sauce.
With a bit less salt, this recipe would be perfect!
My mom asks for this every time i smoke chickens
This sauce came out gross. I added several other seasonings and a splash of steak sauce to it and rescued it as a tangy dip. I’d be offended if someone served this on my bbq….
This has topped my list of BBQ sauces. LOVE this sauce and use it as my main sauce on grilled chicken. Delicious!
I’ve never had the original in Alabama. All I can say is, as a lover of BBQ sauce, this is really unique and good. It’s a new staple in my BBQ sauce rotation.
i haven’t made this recipe yet Ive been looking for white bbq sauces since i saw it on the food network they say white bbq sauce is best for bird meat and burgers and a different recipe i saw for it that got 5 stars included the exact same everything but also had a tbs of hoarse radish and a clove of garlic and a tsp of ground clove i will be making this minus all the salt 🙂
I made this exactly as written, but my brother in law was the only person brave enough to taste it. He said it was “ok” and nobody else would go near it.
This came out very thin although it sat for over a day. My husband added horseradish, but overall, we did not care for it. We love it in a local restaurant, but this really did not compare.
My husband is from Alabama and said he missed this this little bit of home, so i came to find a recipe for it- – He loves it, so far we have used it on pork chops, chicken, and ribs. Its great on everything!
I too am from Decatur, Al and grew up with white sauce being the number one choice for bbq. I go to big bob’s (which was on good eats on the food network) at least once a week and this sauce is not exactly like theirs but pretty similar. If anybody wants to try some of their sauce they sell it on their website.
This is very good. I omitted 1 tbs of black pepper and could have used a little less salt.
too spicy for me
Best on chicken, awful on slow cooked bbq ribs, really good on wings.
Very tasty!!! I put a very small amount on the steak fillet I made for my husband and I. It has a very strong taste and a bit tangy. Overall very good, and will make it in the future again:)
I tasted a white bbq sauce last week that was amazing and was hoping this was a close second but it wasnt even close however it isnt bad as a sauce itself I didnt make any changes to the recipe and mixed it in with shredded chicken, it was a quick and easy sandwich for lunch
I made this on monday. It was soooo good. I did play with it a bit, added some garlic powder and also put a bit of liquid smoke in it. We loved it. Grilled some chicken with it and also served it with the chicken. Yummy!
A family favorite. SO good on grilled chicken wings. I used on slow-cooked country style ribs instead of “red” sauce. Every bit as good!
I used this recipe to make White BBQ chicken salad for a ladies luncheon and it was a big hit with everyone going back for seconds. I halved the recipe then I cooked 5 chicken breasts in my crock pot in chicken broth until they were so tender they shredded easily with a fork. I added the (halved) sauce and a few ribs of celery cut up then baked it at 300 for about 20 minutes the night before the luncheon. The next day I pulled it out of the fridge an served it with Hawaiian sweet rolls. P.S. I used real mayo not Miracle Whip as some have suggested.
