This one is self-evident. Shrimp fried in foil with a spicy jerk flavor.

Used one can diced tomatoes, one can tomato sauce and one can tomato paste instead and I added about 1/4 cup red wine. This tasted fabulous and I will make it again.

Yummy and fast! Can be made with dry herb in a pinch but always better with fresh!

I will never buy past sauce again after making this amazing sauce. You could add any veggies you want to the sauce if desired. I pureed it to make it for pizza sauce, it was so good!!!!

I love how easy this recipe is! I made it as written. I use “no salt added” diced tomatoes and always make sure I have a can on hand. I also use dried basil and add 2 tbsp during the simmer stage. I sauté fresh mushrooms and Italian sausage and add the sauce. Delicious!

AMAZING! I used fresh tomatoes from my garden and followed the recipe precisely. WOW!

Decided I wanted to make this sauce with linguini and mild Italian sausage so I switched up the recipe a bit. I did the recipe as followed but I diced fresh Roma and Campari tomatoes evenly. I tossed them in the sugar and balsamic with salt, pepper, oregano, crushed red pepper, granulated onion and garlic before dropping onto oiled pan. After they hit a boil and simmered for 30 I added a bit of red wine and tomato paste. Let simmer for another 30 and added the linguini, basil, and pan fried sausage. If it’s too thick add a few tablespoons of the water from the linguini pot. Enjoy!

Delizioso! Garden Fresh tomatoes and basil sauce on rotini, a great side with Italian sausage and peppers as the main course!

We followed the overall recipe, but made a few changes. We didn’t add any onions, added another clove of garlic, used dry basil, although it would have tasted better with fresh. We also used diced tomatoes, and left it chunky and super flavorful. We cooked it for 15-20 minutes simmering, covered. We topped it with Parmesan cheese and it ended up delicious!

ok. So, this was so good. I didn’t have exactly every thing so I improvised a bit. I only had dry basil and so I used roughly half a teaspoon. Nor did I have crushed tomatoes, so I mixed a chopped tomato, with a table spoon of paste and like half a cup of water. it came out perfect. even my 4 year old who is extremely picky said it was her favorite.

Hands down the most delicious pasta sauce I’ve ever made. Takes a long time to simmer and I wouldn’t recommend messing around too much with the recipe (like I often do), but so worth it.

This sauce was extremely easy to make with simple ingredients you likely have on hand, and it tasted absolutely amazing. Will definitely be making this again. Try it! You’ll be glad you did.

Easy to follow and the best pasta sause ever. I will make my own going forward. I also only used frets tomatos.

Simple and delicious. Loved the fresh basil from my own garden. I added half a can of tomato sauce (15oz) to make it a bit saucier since the tomatoes reduced down well. I loved the kick the red pepper flakes gave to the sauce, though I probably will add just 1/8 of a teaspoon next time. And we added Parmesan cheese when serving on noodles.

Too much basil and too many tomatoes in your garden? This is an excellent recipe to take care of that wonderful problem. I made it exactly as written and served with fettuccine. A beautiful and easy dinner.

Very good sauce. I added an additional clove of garlic, doubled the amount of crushed red pepper flakes as I like a spicier sauce. As I only had 1/2 cup of fresh basil, I added 1 tablespoon of dried basil. Everyone thought the sauce was great although I found it a bit sweet. Next time I think I would only add one teaspoon of sugar.
Jason Harrison
Excellent but slightly too sweet. I will cut sugar in half next time I make it.

Great recipe! I followed it as close as possible and it turned out very well!

What a fantastic sauce! Tastes great and simple to make. I added a small can of tomato paste so it would be thicker.

This was tasty, a little on the sweet side, but we didn’t mind at all. I used 3 cans of tomatos for more sauce and didn’t have the fresh basil so I used dry. I’m sure it would taste even better if it were fresh. Also, after simmering for over an hour, I took a potato masher and crushed the chunks because my family does not prefer a real chunky sauce. Will make again…Thank you!

Hi, I had massive amounts of basil so I was just wanting to make a simple Basil sauce. This recipe was very easy on it’s own. I made adjustments because I had extra veggies that were in need of being used so I added them to this recipe. If you follow along with the original recipe it is very easy and good but if you have extra ingredients like I did it makes it even better. I added a Japanese eggplant and one green bell pepper to the onion and garlic sauté part. The eggplant ends up making the sauce even richer tasting since it just ends up mushing down once cooked through. I also added two fresh heirloom tomatoes chopped up because I didn’t have chopped canned tomatoes. I did have Trader Joes Tomato Sauce and their Diced & Fire Roasted canned tomato. I used those two instead of plain canned chopped tomato. Once the sauce looked ready I got a potato masher and mashed the chunks so that it wouldn’t be so chunky. I would recommend using a tad less sugar than what this recipe calls for .I’m glad that I found this recipe. It’s the first tomato sauce I’ve made and it will be a staple because it’s so tasty and easy.
