I had bought some pumpkin butter from a “general store” and loved it, but wasn’t able to get back there to buy more. I found this recipe which matched the ingredients from the general store brand. Other pumpkin butters were too sweet, but with the apple vinegar added in this one, it was a stand out. I may cut back on the apple vinegar a bit and increase the spices next time….but this is a keeper.
This was the first pumpkin butter recipe I’ve tried. It’s great. I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out great. I’m putting it on everything! The only thing is it doesn’t really reduce down to the thick syrupy sauce that I’ve seen with apple butter.
Very good!
