This sauce, which is sticky, sweet, and sour, tastes fantastic on any kind of wing, whether it’s grilled, roasted, breaded, battered, or unbreaded. Excellent with your preferred blue cheese dip.

Ingredients

  1. 1 ½ cups buffalo wing sauce
  2. ¾ cup fig jam
  3. ¼ cup bourbon
  4. 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  5. 1 clove garlic, pressed

Instructions

  1. Combine buffalo wing sauce, fig jam, bourbon, soy sauce, and garlic in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring often. Reduce heat and simmer sauce until thickened, 10 to 15 minutes. Let cool before serving, 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. You can substitute the buffalo wing sauce with 1 cup of your favorite hot sauce and 1/2 cup melted margarine.

These were HOT! They did have some sweetness to them too but the sugar in the fig must have released all of the heat in the wing sauce. I didn’t use the soy sauce because I didn’t think the extra sodium was necessary. This was really good but be sure to have some ranch on the side to cool you down.
