Emily’s Dressing for Taco Salad

I found this recipe a few years ago because I think taco salads are just too dry. My husband and I love it! We take taco salad to neighborhood parties and people LOVE it. Thanks for sharing. ❤️

We were looking for a good taco dressing! My husband bought three; chipotle, Spicy ranch and avocado. We hated the taste of all 3! I put small amounts in ramekins for a taste sample before putting on the salad and hating the taste. I had printed out this taco recipe and said “I have all ingredients, let me make this and see which of the 4 we can use! “ Hands down, this recipe!!! It was so much better than the well known bottled dressing’s. I added only salt and pepper. It was fabulous and gave us the taste we needed for the taco salad. This made our meal!

I added Siracha to taste which gave it a little more punch. Will be my go to dressing for sure.

Nailed it!!! This recipe is a keeper. I didn’t measure anything out but used all the ingredients listed in her recipe. I used Valentina picante hot sauce which added some vinegar to it. Already made it again after a week of trying it the first time. I made a ground beef taco salad and a steak taco salad and worked with both.

I used jarred mild salsa in the place of the picante sauce, so I added a few splashes of hot sauce to kick it up a bit. Such an easy recipe. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I’ve always thought taco salad needed some dressing on it other than salsa. This recipe is GREAT! Very simple to make and we all loved it, including my picky eater gentleman friend! Thanks for this one!

I was looking for a dressing for our Taco Salad and came across this one. I didn’t have picante sauce but I starined some of the juice off my salsa which worked just fine. Thanks for a versatile recipe.

I felt like the addition of the sour cream made the dressing rather bland. I usually just use ranch dressing and salsa on my taco salad, which I feel has more flavor. Some people really liked Emily’s dressing, so give it a try for yourself.

This dressing is fantastic! I am going to make it to use on tacos also. The whole family loved it.

Don’t usually have dressing on our taco salad, but decided to give this a try on the recommendation of a friend. Instead of picante sauce, I used a salsa with white beans and corn that I had on hand. Hubs liked this a lot so ‘m thinking it will be a regular addition to our taco salads from now on. Thanks Weegie for your suggestion. 🙂

Quick and delicious!

This is our go-to dressing for taco salads! Left overs go into sandwiches and chicken wraps.

Found this a bit bland, so will add Sriracha sauce next time. On the other hand, a good dipping sauce without a strong onion after taste was a good change. Once doctored with added Russian dressing and Sriracha ace it was a great salad dressing OR chip dip.

I prepared this recipe exactly as written and we loved it. Perfect flavor for taco salad. We used leftover for dipping corn chips. This will definitely be my new go to for taco salads.

Husband and I loved it! Used it on left over brisket tacos.

I never know what kind of dressing to use for taco salad. This was great. I omitted the chili powder. I was concerned the sour cream would make it too heavy, but the ranch really helped the texture, making it like a creamy salsa ranch. My 8 year old thought it would make a great dip for tortilla chips.
