I loved the ease of this. I used Italian seasoning instead of the oregano, and garlic salt in place of the dried garlic. I mixed the sauce into the tomato paste, it was an easier blend to me. I added two tablespoons, (eating tablespoons) of sugar to cut down on the strong tomato taste.
This was a really good pizza sauce. I live in Pittsburgh, PA, and we have an Italian store called Delallo’s. This sauce is as good or better than Delallo’s. Thanks for the recipe. I made my crust following https://sugarspunrun.com/the-best-pizza-dough-recipe/ Amazing pizza.
I tweaked it a bit but it’s very good and fast and also a lot thriftier than purchasing premixed sauce.
WOW…that was sooooo easy, but it needed some “oomph”. The original recipe was on the bland side and too thick for spreading. Used “diced” tomatoes that had been seasoned w/ basil, garlic, and oregano, “real” garlic instead of dry, “Italian seasoning” instead of just oregano, and liberally tossed in some grated romano. DEE-LISH-US!!! CALORIES: 4 servings = 300 1 serving = 75
It’s pretty easy but instead of dried minced garlic I used garlic powder. Still came out great.
Simple to make. No exotic ingrediants ! Very tasty.
Had to tweak so much it wasn’t even near the original recipe. Quite confused on why this is rated so high. I added crushed red pepper, Basil, salt, pepper, onion Powder, farlic powder, and switched out fresh garlic
I made this sauce but found the sauce was a bit tart. I will try again with some changes.
Good but feels like it’s missing something. When you make this, let it sit in the fridge for a little while so the flavors can fully extract into the tomatoe.
Super delicious and easy. Made extra to freeze. Added additions after reading some recommendations by other cooks. 1/2 tsp of sugar, 2 tsp of oregano, 1 tsp of onion powder, 1 tsp of basil, used garlic powder instead of dried garlic.
It was okay for a last minute meal when I realized my pantry was almost empty, and no Italian water left. I did use tomato puree instead of paste and tom sauce. Also, I added some onion powder and garlic powder instead of fresh garlic (I didn’t think the raw garlic would cook before the pizza was done… and I hate raw garlic. I can say I’ve made worse pizza sauce in my time, and this is one I’ll keep on hand for another emergency should it happen. Oh, and I do think cooking it at a slow simmer for a bit would improve it a lot.
I’ve searched everywhere for a good pizza sauce, this is fabulous.
Add a little sugar, and this is the best sauce I ever tasted.
Excellent with or without the tweeks.
I thought this recipe was really good! I liked that I didn’t need a lot of ingredients and no cooking!
I added basil! No sugar. It’s awesome!
It’s great for pizza
Excellent!! Sorry but I added a little sugar and chopped fresh basil…first time I’ve ever made a sauce that wasn’t cooked on stove- it was amazing!
Great sauce. Wow. Loved it and easy to adjust based on preference and what is on hand without changing the basic recipe.
I was in the middle of making homemade pizza when I realized I didn’t have any pizza sauce. I turned to this recipe in a hurry. It is an excellent base recipe. I used tomato puree instead of sauce, because that’s what I had on hand. I used the Gluten-Free Pizza Crust recipe also found on here, along with mozzarella cheese and sliced salami. Yum!
So easy and tasted good!!
