Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds fresh cranberries
- 1 ¾ cups white sugar
- ¼ cup orange juice
- 2 teaspoons grated orange zest
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 cinnamon stick
Instructions
- Combine cranberries, sugar, orange juice, orange zest, and salt in a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot). Close and lock the lid. Select high pressure according to manufacturer’s instructions; set timer for 5 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for pressure to build.
- Release pressure using the natural-release method according to manufacturer’s instructions, 10 to 40 minutes. Unlock and remove lid. Add cinnamon stick and select Saute function; cook until sauce thickens, 5 to 10 minutes. Remove and discard cinnamon stick.
- Blend sauce with an immersion blender for a smoother consistency. Let cool; sauce will continue to thicken naturally.

An easy, no-mess way to make cranberry sauce! This worked perfectly for me and was delicious.
This is very easy, indeed. I used a potato masher to keep it chunky. This was delicious on toast and with cheese. Thank you for the recipe.
The Instant Pot is good for a no-hassle way to make cranberry sauce. I made half a batch, but used 1 cup sugar and still used 1/4 cup orange juice. It was not runny at all. I put the cinnamon stick in right at the beginning, and the flavor is still mild. I heard the beep when it was done and didn’t have time to get to the pot for 40 minutes. Once I started stirring, they smashed very easily and no immersion blender was necessary. I only sautéed for maybe 2 minutes, and it was thick. At first I gave this 4 stars, as it was pretty good warm when I tried it. However, I let it sit in the fridge overnight, and it is just one big clump. This recipe needs more orange juice; all others recipes I’ve looked at call for more liquid.
