This is become a hit for Thanksgiving. My family used to only eat the stuff from a can until I made this 2 years ago! Now they request it every holiday.
It was some of the best cranberry sauce I’ve ever had, it tastes even better if you add a dash of orange juice while it’s cooking!
Love it. Great recipe. Very easy and tasty. Making it again for Christmas. This time used 1/2 Splenda 1/2 brown sugar.
I made this tonight. So amazing! I added 1/2 more sugar, and cinnamon to it. if your going to make it and serve it, I recommend making it a day ahead, so it can set up. The flavor was amazing! Highly recommend!! Would give it a 10 star if I could 🙂
I used Gala apples instead of Granny Smith so it wouldn’t be so tart. Very yummy!!
I found this recipe a few years ago and I’ve made it every year since. I just love it and I just will eat it by itself!
I made no changes and everyone absolutely loved it.
Soooo easy, and delicious 🙂
The combination of cranberries and Granny Smith apples is pretty great. Personally, I can’t stand cinnamon so I left it out. The base of crans and apples makes this recipe very adaptable. The only other thing I did was add just a pinch of salt to make the flavor shine just a bit more. Excellent combination!
It was a quick recipe to make and I liked it so much better than the can stuff that no one really eats. So I thought I would try this recipe and I am eager to serve it at the table this year. It taste more like a Preserve or Jam.
This is delicious ! My 9 yr old grandson loves canned cranberry jelly. I worried the cranberries would be too strong for his taste but it was a hit with the little guy. My hubby liked it too. The apple retained it’s own flavor which was a sweet balance to the tart cranberry. (I used Gala apples) This is an easy recipe and a definite keeper.
I did not make any changes, and I will definitely make again. I ate it by itself as a dessert.
I added grated orange peel and chopped up orange……..delicious! Just like Mother used to make
I love everything cranberry, but not everyone shares cranberries tartness. The apples adds a touch of sweetness and balance to the cranberries. Thanks for a little twist on my old favorite!
The cinnamon is a fantastic addition!
I thought the addition of apples and cinnamon was a Great addition . Will make again.
