In Mexican soups, baked corn tortilla strips are a common ingredient. You can use them to garnish your preferred Mexican soup, such as tortilla soup.

I’ve used this glaze twice now, once to style up basic grilled pork chops and the other time on grilled fresh pineapple slices. Between the sugar and the honey, I knew it would be a bit too sweet for us. I did give it a pretty healthy squeeze of fresh lemon juice which toned down the sweetness, but that’s personal taste kicking in. Worked out well on both dishes, and I feel certain it’d be a winner for glazed ham.
Fast and simple to make Delicious It’s a keeper Thank you
I made this for Easter this year, 2021. Everyone absolutely loved it! In the past I have used the syrup from a large can of pineapple but I couldn’t find any this year. I checked All Recipes for something new and different. This was a huge hit! Thanks for sharing!
Followed the basic recipe. I however did not have enough honey and added a tablespoon of molasses. I also added a 1/8 teaspoon of ground cloves. Would highly recommend this recipe.
Very tasty, very simple. The best recipes are tasty and simple, so this gets me 5 stars.
I did not like this recipe. Aside from the lack of instructions, I did not like the taste. The honey flavor was overpowering. Maybe some spices would have helped. I mixed the ingredients, then poured it over the ham. It was runny and didn’t stick to it. I baked the ham an additional 15 minutes with the glaze and it all pooled in the bottom of the pan. I had to pour it on the ham like gravy. (which I later regretted when i tasted it) I feel like I should have cooked the glaze in a sauce pan to thicken it first, but that wasn’t mentioned in the directions. Safe to say, I will not be making it again.
Perfection. Poured the glaze on and baked the ham covered in foil. Very moist and tasty.
It was tasty, but was too much/too sweet for my wife. I thought it tasted good. Will try tweaking it a bit next time and review again.
Solid choice and well liked.
This is an excellent glaze and I will use it every time I make a ham. I had guests for New Year Day ham, everyone raved about the flavor of the glaze. So simple but really good. I studded the ham with cloves and the combined flavor was excellent.
Only difference was we added 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Very nice and simple. Definitely will use again!
Wonderful and so simple — an excellent base! Leaves plenty of room for creativity. I changed it up a bit, and added 1/4 cup pineapple juice and 1/4 cup of orange juice, instead of a 1/2 cup of orange juice. I also added 3 tsp hot sweet mustard, about 1/4 tsp of ground ginger and about a TBS of grated orange peel. The pan gravy tasted so good with this glaze!
Just like it says, traditional glaze. Very good, wouldn’t change a anything.
Thought this would taste like a shoe. To my delight it tasted like a shoe with pineapple. Felt like Julia Child’s in that movie where she goes to Italy and preys on Hungry Young men in cafes.4 stars. For the movie, not the recipe.
Really simple and yummy. I only had orange/pineapple juice and it was super yummy.
Excellent basic recipe. I added 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and 1/4 tsp of cloves (I would have added more of both, but my daughter prefers very sweet ham sauce). I only had 1/3 cup of honey, so I used maple syrup to make up the rest. I put all the ingredients in a saucepan and heated them to a boil, then glazed my ham every thirty minutes. I saved the rest to use as a sauce. I’m so glad I found this; I’ve been making hit-or-miss glazes for the last ten years.
Percect!
Very simple to make . Basted my ham all during baking time and my tasted fantastic! This will definitely be my glaze I will use from now on.
This was so good! Made exactly as stated, not too sweet at all and gave the ham a very good flavor. Thank you for sharing 🙂
Made this glaze today for the easter ham. It was my first time being in charge of the ham so i was hoping to make a good impression. Everyone in my family complimented how great the ham was multiple times… Even the very picky eaters that seem to always find something to complain about. My son said it looked like food you would see on a tv commercial it looked so good, lol. Very easy. very good. Will definetly make again and would recommend to everyone.
Classic, super-simple and tasty. This is now my go-to glaze 🙂
