So good. Just like the sauce I used to get in the Northern Italian restaurant in DC 20 years ago. I added garlic salt.
Served with lobster ravioli. I added garlic a minute before adding the vodka and I seasoned with basil and black pepper
Made this for the first time with my family for Easter – super simple and everyone loved it! We let the sauce simmer for an extra ~20 minutes after adding the cream to really let the tomatoes sweeten.
I use canned (Hunts) tomato sauce because I like it creamy. This is a family favorite.
Nice and easy recipe. It is importent ti cook the vodka for 10 minutes. I added in minced garlic with the onions & a small can of tomato paste when i added vodka. Also added italian seasoning to taste. I fillowed the rest of the recipe & it was delicious!
Perfect just as written. Nothing else needed to make this simple delicious recipe.
OMG!!! I made this recipe, and like a few others, I tweaked it..:: we were eating it on its own!!! It came out that good!
This is delicious. I used fresh basil, parsley and oregano from my garden. I also used coconut cream instead of heavy cream, and added prosciutto for good measure.
I made this just as it was written. It was absolutely perfect. I used it over shrimp and lobster ravioli. It was perfect.
This is really delicious. Makes a lot so if you need just 4 servings half this. This sauce was great over my rigatoni. We have enough left over to make a pizza with this weekend. I added Italian seasoning and salt and pepper so good.
Excellent, I added spices as recommended and also 1/2 cup grated parm cheese near end. Would of cut recipe in half this is enough for 2lbs of pasta or a family of 6-8.
Easy and delicious!
Absolutely easy and absolutely delish !
AWESOME! I added some minced garlic (from a jar) and a teaspoon or so of Italian seasoning. I might make a batch and freeze it in smaller jars for convenience. It is SO GOOD!
This sauce is just delicious! I used Tito’s for the vodka and I didn’t have any crushed tomatoes so I used mostly petite diced and a can of tomato sauce. It ended up being on the runny side (presumably because I didn’t use the crushed tomatoes) so I had to use corn starch to thicken. I also added red peppers and garlic with the onions and diced chicken and cooked bacon. For seasoning I added Italian blend herbs, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt & pepper. I also added about two tablespoons of sugar. I served it on top of a bed of linguini pasta. I’m sure the sauce is wonderful as is in the original recipe but I wanted to take it up a notch and I was not disappointed. Will definitely make this dish again!
Delicious!! I mostly followed the recipe, I was short on tomatoes, I used 1 24oz can and 1 14.5oz can, but it was still restaurant qualityThanks for sharing this recipe!
It’s fabulous!!! I add a little parsley to the onion while sautéing and cook fresh shrimp to add to the sauce. My husband absolutely loves this recipe!
I sorta mixed together this with another recipe, but this sauce I made is like crack. For reference, I’m going off the base which makes 10 servings. – 3 tsp minced garlic (which I sautéed with the onions) – 1 tsp oregano – 2 tbsp fresh chopped parsley – 1 tbsp dried basil – 1/2 c. grated Parmesan – 1.5 tsp crushed red pepper flakes – 3 tbsp tomato paste – 1/2 tsp black pepper All of these I added at the same time as the crushed tomatoes, so that the flavors would have time to mix. The sauce tasted great before I added the cream. I only added half the pint, and it dimmed the flavors quite a bit. Still tastes great though!
YUM! A keeper! We had with Costco ravioli that was stuffed with lobster and mozzarella. I accidentally forgot to put in the vodka before the tomato sauce, so I had to cook them together and just kept cooking until I couldn’t really taste the vodka anymore, then added the cream and cooked as directed. Per other reviewers I also added some spices to the tomato sauce -for the half batch I made, I added a tsp of dried basil, a tsp of dried parsley, and an 1/8 tsp of oregano. Also garnished generously with fresh basil when serving, which I highly recommend. I also cooked up some rigatoni and ate it for my lunch the next day, and there was still enough sauce left to freeze for a future side dish for my family of 2 adults and 2 teens.
Awesome recipe, the whole family loved it. I added some oregano, basil and parsley as suggested in another review. Perfect!
came out amazing…its hard to find good vodka sauce n this was def a winner…added garlic, oregano, basil, parsley n grated parmesan…I also threw in some cooked sausage n it was amazing…keeping this one
