Ingredients

  1. 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 1/4 pounds)
  2. All-purpose flour
  3. 1 cup Pace® Picante Sauce
  4. 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  5. 1 apple, peeled and cut into 1/4-inch thick slices
  6. 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Coat the pork with the flour. Stir the picante sauce, brown sugar and apple in a medium bowl. Heat the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork and cook for 10 minutes or until well browned on both sides. Pour off any fat. Pour the picante sauce mixture over the pork. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 20 minutes or until the pork is cooked through.

I thought these chops were really very good following the recipe exactly. The only pecante sauce I had on hand was ‘hot’. Whew, were they spicy, not so hot that you couldn’t eat them, but they definitely had a bite. Next time I cook them, I’ll have ‘medium’ on hand.

This recipe was absolutely delicious!!! After browning the chops, I poured the sauce over them and finished them in the oven. So easy!!!

Excellent!!!!!!I also added thinly sliced sweet onion, red wine, fresh OJ, dijon mustard,jarred salsa w pineapple, finely chopped cilantro. I used whole wheat pasta lightly coated w butter cilantro and salt. put the sauce over the pasta and it was yummo!

delicious and different, I love the picante souce with the apples goes very well with the pork, I think next time i’d like to add a little seasoning to the four like pepper and salt. Other than that it’s a keeper.
