Ingredients

  1. One 15-ounce can crushed Italian plum tomatoes in thick puree
  2. One 15-ounce can plum tomato strips
  3. 1/2 cup basil chiffonade
  4. 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  5. 1/2 tablespoon Calabrian chile paste
  6. 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt, such as Maldon
  7. 1 teaspoon sugar
  8. 4 cloves garlic, peeled and roughly chopped

Instructions

  1. Add the plum tomatoes, tomato strips, basil, oil, chile paste, salt, sugar and garlic to a food processor and blend until smooth.

What can be used in place of tomato strips?  I can only find them in the huge #10 can.
