Ginger Sake Sauce

Ingredients

  1. 1 tablespoon olive oil
  2. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  3. 1 whole shallot, minced
  4. 1/2 tablespoon fresh ginger root, minced
  5. 1/4 cup sake
  6. 1 tablespoon sugar
  7. Salt to taste
  8. 1 tablespoon Asian chile sauce
  9. 1 cup tomatoes, crushed

Instructions

  1. Heat oil over medium heat in a saucepan. Add garlic, shallots and ginger. Saute for 30 seconds and add crushed tomatoes, sake, sugar and chile sauce. Simmer for 15 minutes. Remove sauce from heat and set aside. When cool, puree in blender until smooth. Reheat to serve.
