Ingredients

  1. fork-steak1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  2. Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
  3. Four 10 to 12-ounce rib eye steaks
  4. 1 teaspoon seasoned salt, such as Lawry’s
  5. Freshly ground black pepper
  6. 1/4 cup chopped garlic
  7. Balsamic vinegar, for drizzling
  8. One 12-ounce can beer (not light beer)
  9. 6 button mushrooms
  10. 2 red bell peppers, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. 
  2. Spread the chopped onions in the bottom of a large baking dish and drizzle with olive oil. Rub the steaks with the seasoned salt, pepper and garlic and place on top of the onions in a single layer. Drizzle the steaks with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Pour the beer over the steaks and tuck the mushrooms and peppers around the steaks. Roast the steaks in the oven for 30 to 45 minutes.

Disappointing Coollio! I worried about cooking this meat ar 400 for 1 hr! I used excellent quality Rib Eye steaks and they were not “fork tender.” Well done beef, therefor chewy! The sauce was okay, but we found it a bit bland. I won’t be using this recipe again.
