This is a wonderful meal to have to satisfy the comfort food category. Very easy to make, but I would not place it in the most healthiest of meal because of all the sugar. Probably would have been fine without the added sugar because of all the sugar already in the ketchup.
I changed this up a lot. I used honey instead of sugar. I made tomato sauce instead of ketchup. I added minced garlic, chili powder, cumin and red pepper. I used a red bell pepper. Now, it is good.
Takes a while to cook, but preps in no time! I hated using pre-made sloppy joe sauce but didn’t feel confident making my own, but this one is way better. I added some unsweetened cocoa. Sounds weird but you have to try it, it makes the sauce a little “darker” tasting.
I have been making this receipe for about 3 years now and my family loves it. It takes a bit of time but it is sooo worth it. Great flavor, messy as sloppy joes are supposed to and kid friendly.
what a great alternative to Beef..I personally think it needs 2 tbls of worchester sauce..other than that..I just made it for dinner and it was great
This recipe is so easy, and very delicious. My husband and I don’t care for green peppers, so I left them out.
This was a great recipe. Simple but delicious.
fast and easy tastes great too !!
DY-NO-MITE.
The taste layers were remarkable for such a simple dish. Just back from two weeks in Wyoming, I used a pound of ground bison (buffalo), and added a capful of Liquid Smoke and a Tbl or so of BBQ sauce to the recipe, and it ROCKED. My gracious and lovely wife demanded that I make it again within the next 72 hours or face the penalty of permanent KP.

Needed something quick and easy to make with ground beef and this did the trick. All ingredients I normally have on hand but was just short on Ketchup so I used a can of tomato sauce and a little more sugar. Oh yes, did I add that I put a few shakes of garlic powder in it too for a little added zip. Very good!!
