Awesome! I doubled the recipe and still only use a 1/4 cup of sugar. It came out perfect

It was amazing. My Mom who is a critic not only gave me a thumbs up but said it was one of the best if not the best she’s had., and that says a lot. Thanks for the Recipe 🙂

This a great recipe with room to change or improvise. My store didn’t have fresh was beans so I used canned along with a can of kidney and bought a pound of fresh green beans instead. I added green pepper. I agreed with other viewers that 3/4 cup sugar would be too sweet and used barely 1/4 cup. I also used EVOO as that is what I prefer.

I’ve made this recipe a few times, the only thing I’ve ever changed was the type of beans. I add chickpeas, black beans, a long with the ones in this recipe. Summer is coming and this is the perfect salad. No mayo so I don’t need to worry about it spoiling in the sun. Thank you for this recipe. Sincerely, Paulia….

Taste just like my mom’s

Simple, easy and delicious. I mixed beans first, then remaining ingredients into a salad dressing. Added to beans, stir, chill overnight. Had all ingredients on hand 🙂

Glad I read reviews! Added only 1/4 cup sugar and it was plenty. Everything else was done as written.

Basic bean recipe…but I also use butter beans & garbanzo beans …plus I used a Truvia/sugar blend instead of straight sugar…

Yes was an easy recipe to make, added my own little thing to it
Kathryn Conrad
way too much sugar.

I did use about one half as much sugar. This recipe is very flexible. Use the beans and legumes you like best or have in the cabinet. I like red onions best, but yellow, sweet or white are all good. It keeps well unless it’s eaten first.

This recipe was extremely easy to make It was also very inexpensive. I had some canned beans I needed to use up.

Delicious, fast and easy. Never any left. (I omit the celery seeds , personal preference).

I made it exactly and like this version a lot! Perfect for hot summer days as a non cook side dish to your grilled food which we use it for! Mix it ahead and forget about it!

This morning, my 88 year old father, who knows his bean salads, had me taste a few bites that his neighbor had made. It made me hungry for a good recipe to make some for my family. I found yours. Made it this afternoon. It’s very, very good! When I see Dad the next time, I’ll take him a sample. I think he will approve! 5 stars!

The first time I made this, it was way too sweet for my taste. I cut the sugar to 1/4 cup this time and it should be perfect. This is a very easy and delicious salad. Thank you for a recipe I will be making again and again.

I also added a can of butter beans. Next time I’ll add some garbanzo beans

This is the recipe that my mother used when I was growing up. I still make this salad like she did. It’s a great summer staple. A Family favorite.

Good recipe. A bit too sweet and a bit too much liquid but I’ll make again and adjust. I also added some more salt and Italian seasoning. Turned a good recipe into a great one!

I made it exactly the same as written, except I added a small can of garbanzo beans just because I had it. I think it was fabulous. Not too sweet for me. It was so delicious I wanted to drink it!
