I followed the recipe exactly (with a 14oz package of shredded coleslaw mix) and it turned out to be coleslaw soup. So I placed it all into a colander and got rid of excess dressing. After that, it tasted just fine. Adding to an Instant Pot pulled pork recipe tonight.
Best slaw ever! Becomes better the next day or two. Make the day before for sure. Great recipe!
Delicious! I made it as directed and served it with the Texas Pulled Pork recipe I found in Allrecipes, perfect combination! Generally speaking, I’m not a big fan of coleslaw, but this was very good. Not too sweet, not too tangy, it really hits a good balance. I’ll be making this again!
It was a hit! Everyone loved it on pulled pork sandwiches and also by itself. I added more red cabbage and more celery seed but that was it.
Awesome recipe. Made exactly as submitted. Thanks for sharing!
Very good!
This was very good. Some do not like the mayo based slaw, so I did this one too. It goes very well with smoked pork butt.
I was looking for a recipe just like this. Personal preference, I cut back on the sugar and oil by more than half. I’m sure it tastes better as listed but too many calories for my taste. Enjoy, you won’t regret it if you like vinegar slaw instead of mayo.
1.28.18 Piled this on top of a pulled chicken sandwich, but don’t limit yourself to just serving it on sandwiches. This coleslaw is tasty enough to stand on its own as a side dish to many entrees. I cut back just a bit on the sugar and oil, otherwise, followed the directions. As instructed, do allow some time in the fridge, because the flavor will be enhanced. Karen Koppy, this is good stuff and a terrific option to mayo-based coleslaw!
