Chicken Broccoli Salad

Pork chops with excellent flavor that are excellent grilled or cooked in a skillet. With a minimal amount of spice, these chops come out flavorful and juicy. My family enjoys this a lot. You can season food before freezing it to simplify preparation. They just need to be defrosted as usual before cooking. By flavoring meat before freezing, this seasoning also functions effectively. It is best if it rests on the chops for a while.

Prep Time: 15 mins
Additional Time: 1 hr
Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins
Servings: 10
Yield: 10 servings

Ingredients

  1. 8 cups broccoli florets
  2. 3 cooked skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cubed
  3. 1 cup chopped walnuts
  4. 6 green onions, chopped
  5. 1 cup mayonnaise
  6. ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  7. ¼ cup white sugar
  8. ¼ cup crumbled cooked bacon

Instructions

  1. Combine broccoli, chicken, walnuts, and green onions in a large bowl.
  2. Whisk mayonnaise, vinegar, and sugar together in a bowl until well blended.
  3. Pour mayonnaise dressing over broccoli mixture; toss to coat.
  4. Cover and refrigerate until chilled, if desired. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon to serve.
  5. The recipe calls for raw broccoli, but I like to microwave about 2 minutes in a small bit of water to steam, then chill. I also use light mayo or salad dressing and Splenda(R). You can omit the chicken and it makes a delicious broccoli salad.

Added cherry tomatoes. Used leftover rotisserie chicken. Really good!

This is a great salad for summer: it’s easy to put together, it tastes good, and it’s filling. I didn’t have walnuts on hand so I added celery for crunchiness. These ingredients do make a lot, but I think it would serve 8 better than 10. I paired it with macaroni salad, and toasted Italian bread! Yummy! I will make this again.

I made this without the bacon, for the nuts I chose walnuts. My family loved it!

I took the suggestion of throwing the broccoli in the microwave for one minute. Also, instead of plain walnuts, I added a craisin/glazed walnut salad topper from the salad section of the grocery store and mixed in two packages. I grilled the chicken breasts to add a little depth to the flavor. Turned out fantastic!

This salad is delicious. I did substitute 1/4 c. honey for the sugar.

I put freshly shredded cheese on top and then the bacon.

I don’t use any sugar in my household, so I used a stevia blend instead. I’m also picky with mixing any type of nuts with other foods. But other than that, I actually loved it.

Amazing! I subbed a 1/4 cup of honey mustard dressing for mayo and we could hardly stop eating it. So good.

Made it just like the recipe called for. Followed the tip of steaming the broccoli in the microwave for 4 minutes, then chilled it in the fridge immediately after. The salad was tasty.

I loved this salad! But I did change it to one red onion instead of green. Tiny less sugar, add cherry tomatoes, and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Also sliced hard boil egg on top with a sprinkle raisins on top! What a nice sweetness touch it made! Delicious!

I loved it. I am not a huge fan of broccoli usually but the dressing is amazing and makes it taste so good!

This was an awesome recipe. My husband and I loved it. I cut the recipe in half…grilled 4 boneless chicken thighs lightly seasoned with salt and pepper with my stovetop grill pan. Used sliced almonds as I didn’t have walnuts, and threw in sliced orange pepper and a half a red apple coarsely chopped. Threw the bacon and the chicken still warm into the salad and ate it immediately. Will definitely be saving this recipe for future use.

This salad is exceptional! I adore the bacon/chicken combo it is super in this salad. Love the crunch of the walnuts. Simply added S&P to the dressing before whisking it up. I used raw broccoli. Thanks for sharing

I made this exactly as the recipe called for. I used seasoned salt on the chicken and sauteed it in olive oil. My husband and I thought it was so good that I am making it again tomorrow!

A great discovery! I microwaved the broccoli just enough to leave it still crispy. It’s worth the time to fry up the bacon. The combination of flavors was just right!
