Very good
I have been making this recipe for at least 10 years. It’s my favorite chicken salad recipe ever. It’s so versatile. I’ve made it exactly as written many times. I also change it up. I usually leave out the water chestnuts but I always add either chopped walnuts or slivered almonds. I’ve swapped the grapes for apples. I’ve address dried cranberries or omitted the cheese. It always comes out perfect!!
A lot of work for a chicken salad. It tasted good but I prefer keeping chicken salad simple.
This was Sooo good,I use to get one over 30 years ago thats similar at a restraunt after moving out of area never had good one again till now I added extra half c mayo and squirt of djon mustard,I sprinkled McCormick chicken rotisserie Seasoning on breasts before cooking.i didn’t add chestnuts or cheese. Served on crossaints.
So good! We love this salad! Left out the water chestnuts and it was simply lovely!
Our family loves this chicken salad!!
Amazing!
Don’t change a thing! A real keeper
What a GREAT summer salad. Very good for a light lunch or dinner. I made this as directed, except adding a few red grapes I needed to use. Several of us really enjoyed this in a wrap, too. I will be keeping this recipe handy!
This particular chicken salad has an interesting flavor but I found it to be too salty. I would start with 1/4tsp salt and build from there. I also added a large Granny Smith apple since I had no grapes. I love the tang that Granny Smith apples give.
This is very, very good! I missed the swiss cheese ingredient when I was shopping. I had extra sharp cheddar on hand. cut it into very small cubes and it was still delicious. I used th e breasts from a rotisserie chicken because it was easy. I will definitely be making this again!
No changes. I will make again
Delicious!
Best chicken salad I’ve ever tasted! I did make a couple of changes: used Miracle Whip instead of mayonnaise and Feta cheese crumbles instead of Swiss cheese. Tastes fine with the Swiss but we like the flavor of Feta more and it isn’t as ‘rubbery’ as Swiss. Also added dried cranberries- delicious!
I made the recipe as is. The poultry seasoning was odd and overpowering. I grated the Swiss cheese and quartered the grapes (just to try and avoid any one flavor dominating a bite). It was def better on day two than day one. Now that I have made it and read reviews, I am sure the recipe would improve a lot with changes (i.e., less poultry seasoning, add nuts), but I’m so blah about it that I doubt I will try the recipe, again.
Perfect chicken salad. Made it for a family brunch and it was a hit
Five stars if you do not add the poultry seasoning!! It was amazing and a huge hit. Two stars if you do. The first time I made this I did not have poultry seasoning and it was fabulous. I should have left it alone but 2nd time added and yuk completely overpowered all the other ingredients also don’t add the salt it doesn’t need it. So disappointed
The recipe is great as it is. made it and i must say the taste is great. Will definetly make again. followed the recipe to a T with no changes whatsoever. it’s a keeper
Delicious. I don’t care for the flavor of poultry seasoning so I just marinate chicken in balsamic vinegar dressing then grill.
i didn’t have the swiss cheese so i omitted that. and I didn’t have poultry seasoning so I substituted that for goya adobo all purpose seasoning.
We LOVE this chicken salad !! I do make a few changes that we have liked a bit better, first we do not use any poultry seasoning, instead of green grapes we use red grapes and instead of water crescents we use red apples!
