Very tasty. I prefer to cut the pickle relish in half, but the original recipe is good, too. I also reduced the mayo at least 25% and still thought there was plenty. But really, you can’t go wrong. I prefer to thoroughly mix all the spices into the mayo, and *then* add the tuna. That helps distribute the spices evenly.
This is an awesome recipe! I use canned chicken instead of tuna. It is our family’s favorite.
This was absolutely delicious! I adjusted the ingredients to a 5-oz can of tune, using 2 T mayo and probably half of the remaining ingredients.
It was very good and a pleasant change of taste from the usual. I omitted the garlic because I did not think that flavor belonged. Just a personal taste
There is not a better tuna salad recipe that exists! Each ingredient adds its own flavor profile, and all together it is fabulous. It’s the only recipe I use!!
I used 3 cans of tuna and 2 pinches of garlic powder, but all other ingredients remain the same. My husband loved it. I’ll never fixed tuna salad the old way again. LL
The first time I made this recipe exactly as written. The curry was to much for my husbands taste. I now make it without curry and reduced the parmesan to 1/4 tsp and use fresh chopped onions and celery. Now it is perfect for us.
I made this and it is delicious! Finding a recipe where curry and cheese work together is unusual, but this one works. The only change I made was accidentally adding a little bit more onion than called for.
Best tuna salad ever!
Great tasting tuna salad, thank you for this recipe! I made this almost exactly according to the recipe, but didn’t have dried onion flakes. I used fresh red onions instead, and that was the only thing I did differently.
it was great just like it called for . I tried it on toasted whole wheat bread with a little dejon on one side with a leaf of romane . I will definatly be doing this one again.
Barbie, thank you for sharing your delicious recipe. There is a chef in the Cinque Terre region of Italy that makes this recipe using white fish. She is paid a lot of money to create her fish dish using the subtle ingredient… curry powder. It is served in empty orange halves.
Substitutions I made because it is what I have on hand. Low Fat (1%) Cottage Cheese that I put in my mini chopper until smooth, for the Greek yogurt and mayo. This saved on fat and calories. Dill relish for sweet relish For a less saucy salad I used two 5oz cans water packed tuna. We used hot dog buns. Because I haven’t been to the grocery store. My husband was skeptical, but his response after his first bite….Mmmmm that is good! This is a keeper. I have been using this recipe since 2018. It is my go to for both Tuna and Chicken salad. I add more onion and dill, the amount varies to our taste on that day. Make changes to meet your family’s taste. We also use tortilla, casava root chips or celery in place of bread or buns.
Add onions and horseradish will kick it up even more
Super delicious, but I add fresh onion and significantly more parmesan and dried/fried onions. We eat it with crackers and on sandwiches.
Loved it! Kept all the seasonings the same. My healthier changes: 1 T lite mayo 1 cup diced apples for crunch and fiber. Served on Ole Extreme Wellness tortillas. Only 50 cal each.
Loved it but will def use less mayo next time and maybe less relish! BF and kids loved it as well. Thanks for such a delish recipe!!
Very good! I added finely chopped celery, more onion and less mayo. Did not have curry. After tasting it, it needed a little bit of salt and pepper. Loved it!
This my family’s favorite sandwich!
I am just not a fan of tuna. I keep trying it but never can get on the bandwagon…until THIS recipe. It was absolutely delicious!!! Even my 4 year old twins, who also are not fans of tuna, ate it happily and then declared we should make it for Thanksgiving lol (we won’t be but I appreciate the sentiment).
Amazing! A must try, the only way i will eat tuna salad
