After sampling this salad, confirmed broccoli haters have changed their minds. It works well for buffets and potlucks. Blend the ingredients together a day or two before serving. It still tastes fantastic even if I used nonfat or low-fat mayonnaise for the white sugar.

Yummy one of my favorites, added some chopped bell pepper to mine.
Loved it! Had to substitute almonds for the sunflower seeds.
Too much mayonnaise. I’d reduce to something closer to 1/3 cup if you expect to look like the picture.
This one is a keeper. Didn’t change anything. Perfect balance.
Love this recipe. I’ve made it several times now for friends and family. Everyone always asks me for the recipe. The one thing I do differently is I don’t use all of the mayonnaise dressing. I use about half of it. It seems to balance the flavors a little bit better. Other than that I would not change a thing.
This recipe was really good! Whenever i make a recipe i always follow the recipe exactly the first time and then if i like it enough i’ll change it to my liking. When i first made this recipe before letting it sit over night i tried it and i though it had to much vinegar but once it sat up it was amazing. So don’t judge it till after you let it sit in the fridge over night. I did read a some reviews that said it was a little runny so i used 2 heads of broccoli instead of 1, also my broccoli heads were a little small. i didnt change anything else didn’t add anything either. It came out perfect. i also heard some say too crunchy so cut my broccoli into small pieces. I did see someone say they used frozen broccoli instead of fresh i don’t recommend that fresh is best in this (just my opinion). Definitely will be making this again!
Great!
this was easy to make and can be prepared ahead of time so it’s ideal as a side when entertaining.
I brought this to Christmas to rave reviews. When I first mentioned that I was bringing a broccoli salad the response was underwhelming. But, several people thanked me for bringing it. A couple actually said they were surprised at how much they liked it. I did cheat and used Costco bacon bits and dried craisins. Yummy!
I made it just as the recipe stated! It was excellent – the crowd loved it!
Fabulous! My husband and I loved this recipe. We used two heads of broccoli but they were too small so make sure you put enough broccoli in, otherwise there’s too much dressing. Delish!
I made it just like recipe said. It was very good.
Mom’s new favorite salad, and she’s not usually a fan of broccoli. Now I make it with apple cider vinegar and craisins, and have subbed slivered almonds for the sunflower seeds in a pinch. Delicious as is or with adjustments for what’s in the pantry.
Delicious!!! I omitted the sunflower seeds (just not a fan?) and swapped in craisins for raisins. Soooo good!!
My family LOVES this recipe, it’s always requested for family gatherings!
At first seems like just another broccoli salad recipe, but it grows on you with every bite! I’m saving it to repeat with new spice experimentation each time, to help me teach myself how to use spices properly. A great baseline.
Easy & delish! I soaked the chopped red onion in water for about an hour to reduce harshness. I had no red wine vinegar so mixed some red wine & white balsamic vinegar. I combined dried cranberries with raisins too. Added a bit of salt & pepper. Also used pepitas rather than sunflower seeds.
This is a great recipe! I have made this for several holiday gatherings and it is always a favorite.
My husband doesn’t typically like any type of salad with a mayo dressing. He loves this broccoli salad. I did change it up and used almond slivers instead of the sunflower seeds and cheese instead of raisins. I’m not a fan of raisins. I have to make a double batch or it will be gone in one meal!
Loved this! Used 2 broccoli crowns, about 1/3 of a red onion, about 1 1/2 cups of sliced red grapes, precooked bacon (it’s so convenient!), and the last of a bag of sunflower seeds, toasted. Made the dressing per the recipe except used Swerve instead of sugar. We cannot tell the difference. Put half the crumbled bacon in with the salad to marinate then the other half along with the sunflower seeds right before serving. Hope the leftovers are even better tomorrow!
This recipe is fantastic. Exactly how you would expect this salad to taste. It’s a potluck favorite. It doesn’t make a ton, double the recipe for a large crowd.
