Ingredients

  1. 6 to 8 Mission figs, halved
  2. 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  3. 3 tablespoons honey
  4. Pinch ground cinnamon
  5. Pinch kosher salt
  6. Fresh ricotta or fat free Greek yogurt, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Put the figs, cut side up, in a baking dish. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat, and whisk in the honey, cinnamon and salt. Drizzle the hot honey butter over the figs and roast in oven until very soft, 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Divide the fresh ricotta or fat free yogurt among 4 serving dishes and top with the warm figs and sauce. Enjoy!
  4. Cook’s Note: These hot figs are really great over mixed greens or even on a toasted baguette as a crostini!

Delicious, I made it on the stove this morning because I didn’t want to hot up the house. I had only 6 figs, modified the measurements also added chopped walnuts and oh my goodness! I will definitely make this again for guests.

Any time I find fresh figs, I make this recipe. I serve the figs over some vanilla Greek yogurt. This is one of my all-time favorite recipes!

This recipe was fantastic! Make your own ricotta…it is so worth it. It is a really simple recipe, but I never thought to put the two together. I am so glad I found it. Delicious, delicious, delicious! I will definitely be making this again. For the kids, for dinner parties, whenever!

This was sooooo good!!!! I don’t like figs, so I made this with peaches and apples. I was also out of honey, so I substituted brown sugar instead. The apples were like a warm carmel apple….so delicious! I served the peaches with cream cheese! That was my fav!!! It was like a warm peaches and cream!!!!!!!!! Just delicious!
