Underwhelming in my opinion. Lacked depth of flavor. Don’t think I’d make this again even with modifications.

I followed the recipe as written and it came out good. My very picky six year old even loved it.

Follow the raspberry and so far looks like it’s coming out just fine broth tastes great getting ready to do the final few ingredients. Don’t see any need to change this Asian inspired recipe do enjoy

Loved it! Any recipe can be used as a base to tweak to your liking. Seems to be a local star anise shortage, so I went with anise seeds instead and modified to the right ratio. Worked great and came out with a delicious meal! I ended up using an instant pot instead for the pork, about an hour and a half on high, before shredding.

What would the timing be if you did this in an insta pot?

I would be giving this a 5 if I didn’t agree with the reviews about more broth. I added 5 cups and it was perfect (a whole qt and had an open one that I used the rest of). Then just over poured on the soy sauce to keep the right ratio. I don’t agree with the star anise being over-powering! The rice noodles don’t get soggy so I don’t agree with the suggestion to cook separately. I think the recipe as is, is great! Just add more broth if you want it more like a soup 🙂

Delicious with a few changes: Double the chicken broth, add 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, 2 Tbsp salt, omit Star anise, add 1/2 tsp anise seeds

I loved this recipe though I made a few tweaks. I omitted the star anise. added baby bella mushrooms, diced water chestnuts, carrot stick rivets, fresh green beans and then topped with green onions. Loved. My family and I loved it.

Made this added double chicken broth and soy sauce. Used reg spaghetti noodles used fresh spinach instead of bok choy no star anise and  2 tablespoons spiracha. Yum! Cooked noodles separate. Will make it this way again!

Do not make this if you do not like licorice.

I thought the rest of the ingredients would overpower the star anise, but no!
I even halved the star anise, but still had to throw it all out because none of my family could stomach this recipe.
So gross.
