Julie’s Perfect Pork Chops

  4.7 – 2 reviews  • Boneless

After experimenting with several chop preparation techniques, I came across this recipe. Then I gave this mixture a try, and my boyfriend and I have been preparing them in this manner ever since. My go-to recipe for chops after a long day at work is this one! They take only a few minutes to prepare and seem like you toiled for hours. For a great meal, serve with Yukon gold mash and some long green beans.

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup all-purpose flour
  2. 1 tablespoon seasoned salt (such as LAWRY’S®)
  3. 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  4. 4 thin-cut, boneless pork loin chops
  5. ½ cup canola oil

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, seasoned salt, and pepper thoroughly in a wide bowl.
  2. Dredge each side of the pork chops in the flour mixture. Set aside on a plate.
  3. Pour oil into a frying pan over medium-high heat. Drop a pinch of flour in the oil; it will sizzle if the oil is ready. Add 2 pork chops and cook until golden brown on the outside and no longer pink in the center, 3 to 4 minutes per side. Repeat with the remaining chops.
  4. If you would like more crispy-looking chops, you may add a slice or two of butter to the oil before adding pork chops.
  5. We have determined the nutritional value of oil for frying based on a retention value of 10% after cooking. Amount will vary depending on cooking time and temperature, ingredient density, and specific type of oil used.
  6. Nutrition data for this recipe includes the full amount of breading ingredients. The actual amount of breading consumed will vary.

This was the first time I’ve ever fried anything. My mother never did fry. This was easy and delicious. I fixed them again the next week.

This was perfect after a long day at work. I bought the thinnest pork chops the store had but they were still pretty thick so I had to cook them longer. It doesn’t get any easier than this. Simple is good and this recipe is a great reminder of that.
