I love this recipe! It works great cut in half for 2 people (with enough for leftovers,), and would be great for a family gathering meal. I browned (seared) the pork chops before adding to the crock pot, just because I think they look better. I had to substitute cream of chicken soup for the cream of onion soup, which I could not find anywhere. I also added fresh sliced mushrooms to the onion layer. A winner in my recipe box for sure!
This is the easiest Really Delicious Recipe to make. Come out so tender. Will make again! Instead of Cream of Onion Soup, I used Cream of Celery.
YUMMY!
Since I only had 3 pork chops, I used one-half of an onion, one can of mushroom soup, one-half packet of ranch dressing, and one whole packet of onion soup. I cooked it in a crockpot on high for approx 3 hours and the meat fell off of the bone. My husband said it was really good, which is a high compliment from him!
No changes and loved it
This recipe is a win!! Everyone I’ve served it to loves it! Even leftovers frozen have been tasty. Like everyone else.. I omitted the water. The chops generate more than enough liquid.
I made this last night and it was great! I did omit the ranch dressing because I thought it would taste weird. I only used 3 pork chops because it’s just me and my son. It made an excellent gravy.
I only made 5 chops so used half of the ingrients except the water. I like it with the ranch and had plenty of gravy. I also cooked on low all day. Will make again!
This dish was SO tender, moist and delicious! I used 6 bone-in center cut pork chops, 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup (didn’t use the cream of onion soup). I left out the ranch mix and used almost a whole package of beefy onion soup mix. (which also gave the gravy a bit of brown color) I seasoned chops with a sprinkle of garlic powder and pepper but did NOT salt at all. It was plenty salty without. I cooked the onion slices it olive oil and then added a diced clove garlic, removed from pan and browned the chops. (which also adds color to the gravy) Mixed everything in a bowl first and put it all together in my slow cooker. Cooked on low for 6 hours, served with mashed potatoes and asparagus …..YUM!
It was easy enough. I left out the water as well. It didn’t need it. It was alright. I don’t think I will make it again.
I make the gravy with lo-sodium Cream of Mushroom, Golden Mushroom and dry Onion soup then serve with mashed potatoes or egg noodles. There are many low sodium seasonings that could be used. I have been making this for 40+ yrs and it is often requested for family gatherings. My brother especially likes it with chicken instead of pork.
I made it but not with the ranch dressing package. It is how I make it in the first place. I really like it a lot.
Worried about the salt….just use the low sodium variety of the Campbells soup. You can always add a little salt after cooking. Lose the Ranch Dressing mix……really does not enhance this dish and actually tastes better without it. I tried it both ways. Also, I added 1 lbs of portobello mushrooms.
Delicious and not time or energy exhausting, husband loves the pork chops prepared this way.
Delicious
Loved the flavor and the pork chops were so tender. Next time I will reduce some of the liquid to make a thicker gravy.
I didn’t make it exactly as written because we didn’t need 10 servings. lol. I made homemade condensed cream soup instead of canned (only 1 since I had less pork chops), put 2 oz. of water (will leave it out next time), homemade French onion soup mix from this site, and no pepper since I don’t like it. Left out the ranch too, after reading some reviews. Delicious! So tender they were falling off the bones. My guys loved it!
These were delicious! And so easy to make, too! Hubby would not stop raving about them and asking me to make them again! Followed the recipe except I used 2 cream of mushrooms and omitted the water. It definitely does not need it. Maybe to dilute the concentration of the flavor of the sauce, but certainly not for the consistency for it’s plenty thin on it’s own. Cooked on low for 4 1/2 hours and the chops were fall apart tender and not too dry. Just perfect. Thanks for the great recipe!
Not bad but it was missing something
Love it it was easy to make and taste great!!
4.5 star’s for sure!! delishhh I made this for my husband and he loved it. Only thing i changed and not by choice was the cream of onion, I couldjnt find it anywhere, so i left it out.
