Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup water
  2. ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  3. 1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring
  4. 1 rack baby back pork ribs
  5. salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  6. 1 (12 ounce) bottle barbeque sauce, divided

Instructions

  1. Combine water, vinegar, and liquid smoke in the pot of a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot). Place rack in the bottom of the pot.
  2. Season baby back pork ribs with salt and pepper on both sides. Cut rack in half. Place ribs in a teepee formation onto the rack. Pour a little barbeque sauce onto each half and let run down the sides. Close and lock the lid.
  3. Select Meat setting according to manufacturer’s instructions; set timer for 30 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for pressure to build.
  4. Wait 15 minutes before releasing pressure carefully using the quick-release method according to manufacturer’s instructions, about 5 minutes. Unlock and remove the lid.
  5. Set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven’s broiler. Line a baking pan with aluminum foil. Place ribs onto the prepared baking pan and slather with barbeque sauce.
  6. Cook under the broiler for 5 minutes. Remove and immediately add more sauce.

These ribs were so tender they fell off the bone literally.

Made this exactly like the directions. Since I am doing keto, I used sugar-free bbq sauce. They were the best ribs I have ever eaten!

I loved my ribs. Delicious. fall of the bone tender and melted in my mouth. I didn’t have the liquid smoke so I added smoked BBQ in the pot, I also didn’t have the apple cider vinegar so used red wine! Next time I make this (and I will) I will get the ingredient’s that this recipe called for. Big thank you for sharing this recipe.

Fall off the bone indeed. While these will never replace ribs done on a smoker, that is also a weekend thing and very time consuming. These are PERFECT for a week night meal. They may take an hour to finish but only 5 minutes of that is of your actual time. The rest is fuss free. Excellent recipe!
