Chinese Pork Chops

  4.5 – 262 reviews  • Boneless

Simple soup that I can make with items I always have on hand. This is a hobby for my hubby. In addition to the soup, he enjoys adding a generous dollop of leftover mashed potatoes to the dish. I prefer it when it’s served with cheese and corn chips. Add a few diced jalapenos for a soup with more heat.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 15 mins
Additional Time: 6 hrs
Total Time: 6 hrs 25 mins
Servings: 6

Ingredients

  1. 6 boneless pork chops
  2. ½ cup soy sauce
  3. ¼ cup brown sugar
  4. 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  5. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  6. ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  7. ⅛ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Pierce pork chops on both sides with a fork.
  2. Whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, oil, ginger, and garlic powder together in a bowl. Reserve about 1/4 cup marinade for basting; pour remaining marinage into a resealable plastic bag. Add pork chops to the bag, coat with marinade, squeeze out excess air, and seal the bag. Marinate in the refrigerator for 6 to 8 hours.
  3. When ready to cook, preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil the grate. Remove pork chops from marinade and shake off excess. Discard remaining marinade.
  4. Cook pork chops on the preheated grill, basting often with the reserved marinade, until no longer pink in the center, 6 to 8 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).

This is a great recipe. I cooked the chops in a cast iron skillet. They came out very flavorful & moist. The most successful pork chop dinner I have ever made!

Great marinade! I substituted Swerve brand brown sugar, otherwise I made as is. I grilled 4 boneless pork loin chops for use in my fried rice. We will make this marinade again.

Looking for a different way to make pork chops and wow! Thank you for posting this recipes the pork chops came out sooo Amazing! Big shot out to those who made it before me as I didn’t have time for the meat to marinate since it was a last minute decision to cook them so I also chopped up what I had and baked it in the oven by following the directions of what others posted they came out soo delicious I’m still shocked that even my picky eaters at it all up without a fight! I can’t wait to make them again but next time grilling them.

I had some boneless pork ribs as well as pork chops, so I did both. It was all delicious. I will definitely make this again.

I substituted sesame oil for vegetable oil and completely forgot the lemon juice. Still delicious though.

Made this according to the recipe but it’s winter here in Canada so we couldn’t grill (BBQ is covered today in ice & snow). Marinated for 6 hours in the fridge, oven baked at 400° for 30 minutes, turning halfway through. Let sit for 5 minutes and cut into bite size pieces. Used bone in, large, 1 inch thick porkchops and they turned out amazing! My kids who normally aren’t porkchop fans absolutely loved it and had seconds. Even asked to have it for school lunch tomorrow. Will be remaking these again for sure! Thanks for sharing your recipe! It was a hit!

I made these pork chops and didn’t make any changes to the recipe at all. They were delicious! Served with a side of cheesy scalloped potatoes, and a salad. Dinner was an absolute hit! I will definitely make this again! So easy and tasty!

Used the Ninja Foodi and used the air crisp (air fryer) setting at 390 deg for 12 mins, flipped and set for another 12 mins. They came out great, juicy and tender. I only marinaded for 4 hrs and added 1/2 tsp five spice to marinade. So good!!!!, thank you.

Very good pork chops. It’s hard to find pork chop recipes that don’t dry out the chops. These came out very juicy and flavorful. I don’t have a grill so I’ve made this recipe a few times, on both the oven and pan-fried using a ridged skillet, and I think it tastes better on the skillet than the oven.

I made it exactly as it called for, I just didn’t care for it. Gave it 4 stars because the rest of the family liked it.

The chops were excellant. Made on the grill and at the same time put some veggies on the grill. Will definitely make again.

This is an easy and delicious recipe. I didn’t even let them marinate very long and they were still outstanding.

I baked this instead of grilling but it was still absolutely delicious! I slightly overcooked the pork but the marinade is so forgiving, they were still tender and yummy.

No changes made. Cooked in slow cooker. Awesome!

I used this sauce/marinade on some blade steaks that were cut thin. I added a nice flavor to them. I am keeping this recipe.

Marinated 4 thick boneless chops for 6 hours. Baked at 425 degrees with all the marinade for 30 minutes. Served with Peanut Butter Raman Noodles also from this site. Great meal.

This recipe is amazing. I made this for my family not telling them what was in it or what the recipe was called, I do that a lot! They thought it was wonderful. Marinating it hours ahead of time has to be the trick here because it was so good. Definitely a keeper.
