Level: Easy
Total: 35 min
Active: 10 min
Yield: 1 pizza crust

Ingredients

  1. Nonstick cooking spray, for the baking sheet
  2. One 15-ounce can chickpeas, rinsed, drained and dried (I put them in a dishtowel and shake until dried)
  3. 1 tablespoon gluten-free flour
  4. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  5. 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  6. 1 teaspoon onion powder
  7. 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  8. 1 large egg
  9. Freshly ground black pepper
  10. Desired pizza toppings

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Combine chickpeas, flour, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, onion powder, salt, egg and some pepper in a food processor until smooth. (The mixture will be creamy, like hummus.) Transfer to prepared baking sheet and spread into a 10-inch circle with a rubber spatula.
  3. Bake 15 minutes. Remove from oven and add desired toppings. Return to oven and bake an additional 10 minutes. Slice and serve.

I will try this by adding cheese first so crust does not become soggy. Maybe baking crust a little longer. Worth a try with low moisture, pre-grated cheese. Definitely worth a try for a healthy meal.

The crust does fall apart and even with adding extra seasoning it’s a NO.

Omg his was the best pizza base I have ever used. I followed the recipe and suggestions to bake longer, it totally worked. Didn’t crumble and was the perfect texture. Usually after homemade pizza I’m really full, but I feel comfortable because the base wasn’t glugy. Thankyou

Love this recipe! I used an egg substitute since i’m vegan but the consistency seemed right. Its so hard to find yeast free recipes, this one is a great alternative for those with allergies!

I did not like the texture and taste of the chickpea crust. Nothing beats a traditional pizza crust!

I usually like Katie’s recipes, but this is very dry and tastes like cardboard…even with the spices. Also, the crust falls apart when you try to pick it up. I will not make it again. Sorry Katie!

Like much better than cauliflower crust pizza. Good flavor, however
crust did not get Crisp. perhaps it needed to be thinner.
