I am not a fan of pecan pie, never have been but this was the best pecan pie I have ever had in my life!!!! I made it for Thanksgiving and have also had requests to make it on Christmas, which I gladly am!!! Thanks Paula, you are the best!!!!

I just made this for Thanksgiving dinner. I started to worry after I committed to making it because I was worried it would not be a success. I was wrong, it was amazing! Everybody loved it, especially with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out perfectly.

Some notes on this recipe: I have a copy of Southern Country Cooking from the Loveless Cafe and I noted a couple of differences from this recipe and the one that in the Recipe Book. 1. The book recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups pecans (halves or pieces. 2. The book calls for 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter, melted. 3. The book calls for a cook time of 35 to 40 minutes at 375 degrees. I hope this helps. The pie is really good at the restuarant and I would hate for your efforts to fail because of a bad recipe. If you have tried it and failed, give it a try again. Happy Cookin’ Y’all.

I followed the recipe and the 30 minute baking instructions. Like several reviews it came out
runny. I’ve made several pecan pies, never had one turn out like this one. I am putting it back
in the oven for an additional 20 minutes, hopefully it sets. 🙁

I just watched the episode and noticed that she says 6 TEASPOONS instead of the 6 tablespoons the recipe calls for. I hope this helps anyone thinking about trying it. Let us know if this makes a difference! I HAVE NOT tried this recipe so disregard my rating, but I had to put one to post!

I reduced the butter and baked for an hour, and it wouldn’t set-up. Not sure what went wrong.

YUMMY !!!! This is the best !!! I was not a pecan pie person. However, I’m glad I tried this recipe. It’s not as sweet as most.
My husband absolutely loves it. As anyone who does any kind of cooking knows…cooking times may vary. If the 30 mins is up and the pie is a little loose, put it back in for another few minutes. What you have to remember too, is the “Loveless Cafe” I’m sure uses commercial ovens. Which will make a difference in cook times. I know there are only 5 stars but, I’m going to rate it a 10 !!!!

This is the worst pecan pie recipe I have ever baked. I wish I had read the review before I started. I baked two pies today to send out of town for a Thanksgiving celebration. When I delivered the pies, I noticed they were not set. I baked acoording to the given directions. I’m not sure if it was the butter or the amount of baking time that was the problem. If I decide to bake it again I will play around with the baking time. I have eaten at the Loveless Cafe and was looking forward to making their pie.

I made this for my mother in law when she was visited (a surprise for her and my husband who is a dessert-aholic). We’ve had pecan pies from so many different places but this was one of the BEST pecan pies we’ve ever eaten! I took the advice and cooked it about 40-45 mins (had to watch it though so the crust did not burn). Can’t wait to make it for this Thanksgiving!
