Just made this dish for dinner. Loved it. Added peas and lots of mushrooms. Never thought to add cream cheese before but it works. Will be making this frequently going forward.
Found the original recipe bland. But it is AMAZING if you use cream of mushroom with roasted garlic (I find it tastes better than regular cream of mushroom), swap the carrots for 8oz of sliced baby bella mushrooms, a 1/2 tablespoon of worcestershire sauce, and 2 beef bouillon cubes. The mushrooms blend better into the recipe’s flavor, while the worcestershire sauce and beef bouillon cubes add a delicious savory beefy flavor. (I actually added 3 beef bouillon cubes which was amazing but overpowered the other stuff in the dish so I’d recommend using 2)
instead of colby jack i used 8oz bag of cheddar cheese cubes and it made it taste more like mac and cheese
I thought it was great! The only thing I did differently was I used peas and carrots. Yum!
i loved making this. I had so much fun
Ended up adding Worcestershire sauce and seasonings. Was rather bland otherwise.
Very good dish. I added some mixed frozen veggies, a handful of shredded cheddar, and some parsley and it was delicious. You do kind of need to add some additional seasonings for flavor.
tried this recipe, I tweaked it just a little for my household’s taste and it was amazing. excellent recipe to follow, whether following exactly or just adding a bit of extra spice like I did. very delicious. sorry no picture, it was being eaten before I had the chance.
my kids loved it. I used peas instead of carrots.
I loved it. I added mushrooms & didn’t do the carrots.
No good, very bland.
I only used 1 can of cream of celery soup (we don’t like mushrooms). I added chopped onion and minced garlic. Used Nature Season, garlic powder, beef bullion granules and Worcestershire sauce. We liked it quite well this way. I think it would have been too bland without the extra seasonings.
this was bland
Bland till I added liquid smoke and beefy mushroom Lipton dry mix – then great !!!
so good! even my picky eater loved it.
Turned out good. I substituted the ground beef with beings on steaks cut up similar to stew meat.
So simple and quick, perfect for a busy night. I made the recipe exactly as stated and thought it was filling and tasty.
