This dish for beef stroganoff with hamburger meat is a favorite among my entire family. It’s a filling supper with rich, tart, and mouthwatering flavors. Add more sour cream and fresh parsley as a garnish.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef chuck
- 1 (8 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 (14 ounce) can beef broth
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 (12 ounce) package egg noodles
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 teaspoons finely grated raw horseradish (Optional)
Instructions
- Cook and stir beef, mushrooms, onion, and garlic in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until beef is browned and crumbly, 6 to 8 minutes. Add flour; cook and stir until combined, about 2 minutes. Stir in broth, condensed soup, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, and salt; bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until flavors blend, about 15 minutes.
- When you reduce the heat, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add egg noodles, return to a boil, and cook, uncovered and stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, about 6 minutes. Drain and keep warm.
- Mix sour cream and horseradish together in a bowl. Stir into beef mixture and cook until hot, about 5 minutes. Serve over egg noodles.
- Use cream of mushroom soup with roasted garlic if you can find it.

We loved it, only changes were garlic, real mushrooms—yum!
Best I ever made!
This was so good. My husband loved it!
Loved this receipt. So easy and very tasty.
Pretty good for hamburger stroganoff. I added a few shakes of smoked paprika. We enjoyed it.
Made as it.
Great Hamburger Stroganoff recipe. I did use homemade Beef Stock; added 2-tablespoons Smoked Paprika; added 1/4-1/2 cup Cream Cheese and added 1-1 1/2 tablespoon of Dijon Mustard. The result was a very thick, very creamy, somewhat tangy, and incredibly satisfying Stroganoff over Egg Noodles. My hint: try a Lingonberry jam on the side!
This by far was the best hamburger stroganoff recipe that I’ve ever made. The family loved it.
Very good recipe that makes a large amount. My family liked this very much. I will use 3/4 cup of sour cream in future as that was a bit overwhelming, and I would not use horse radish( only preference). I will make again as it gets on the table quickly also
Tasteless. A huge waste of time and materials. Even nutmeg, pepper and parmesan couldn’t improve it.
great taste easy to make big hit with my husband.
I like Campbell’s Mushroom Soup in some recipes but find it completely unnecessary in the ground beef Stroganoff. The combination of broth, flour and a couple tablespoons of cream cheese makes plenty of sauce with the final addition of sour cream. I haven’t tried horseradish in this dish before but think it will add a little extra spark. Thanks for the suggestion.
Super easy and super delish!!
So simple and so delicious!! Will definitely make again! Didn’t have sour cream so substituted heavy cream and was still delicious!!
I’ve been making this for decades, but no flour no beef broth , and a big dollop of ketchup with the worst shire . The combo makes the tang in the sauce . Never tried the horseradish but I certainly will
Followed the recipe the first time. Not for us. The next time we went with ground chicken and chicken broth. We omitted the salt figured there was enough in the worcestershire sauce and the canned soup. We added cornstarch instead of flour. We used rigatoni instead of egg noodles. Everything else stayed the same as the recipe. The horseradish was a definite plus Thanks for the recipe
Very good recipe. I used half the salt due to the saltiness of the soup. Good flavor
Made this last night for dinner, and it’s nothing special following the directions. i thought it was pretty bland. You need to season the meat, i use Franks season and lawry’s season salt and black pepper. Season with what you like, bland meat like this ruins any recipe.
This turned out really good and it was thick the flour you add is a thickening agent works so good
This is a great recipe! We really enjoyed it. It’s quite hearty and flavorful.
This was very quick and easy. I added more horseradish since my husband and I both enjoy it. I’ll be making this again soon.
