really good and easy to make. next time might cut down 1 tblspn sugar
This is amazing. It is a nice refreshing drink on a hot summer day. It isn’t to sweet, I added about 1 tablespoon of lime juice and you get a hint of the lime. Love it.
Made with watermelon and used 2 Tbs. honey instead of sugar (the watermelon was sweet enough), the juice of one lime (next time I’ll use 2 limes), and a pinch of salt. I strained it into a fine mesh sieve, discarded the fibrous pulp and then chilled it for a couple of hours.
I poured the puree 1/2 way into a glass with crushed ice and then topped it off with some seltzer. Garnish with a slice of lemon or lime. It was 97 deg. with 100% humidity here in NC today – this was very refreshing.

This is delicious and so easy to make. My grandson love this and I taught him how to make it himself. This is yummy with vodka for the grownups.
This is a great alternative to an alcoholic drink on a 90 degree day. The watermelon I used was pretty sweet, so it didn’t need the whole 6 T of sugar. Best to hold off on the full amount of sugar and adjust as necessary depending on what fruit is used and its state of ripeness.
Since I made this in winter (still warm here in so cal.) the fruit wasn’t really in season yet but it was wonderful. During the summer when the fruit is really ripe I might add some lime or lemon juice to balance out the sweetness. Also, if I was making this for company or a large gathering where it would have to sit i would probably strain it so that it wouldn’t separate. i can’t wait to try this with some other fruit, like berries.
Note: Since I didn’t have superfine sugar in the house and didn’t want to run to the market I just put the sugar in the blender first and ran it for a minute or two. Seemed to work out perfectly.
