Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 10 tablespoons bacon fat, melted
- 5 cups whole wheat flour
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a cookie sheet.
- Beat eggs in a large bowl. Stir in milk, water, salt, and bacon fat until well blended. Gradually stir in flour to make a stiff dough. Pinch off pieces of the dough and roll into 2 inch balls. Place on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool on racks. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator.

These were a bit for my daughter’s furry girls! The finicky one was begging for more so she got a doggy bag for the trip home. Hanna may or may not share with sister Coco! Made as directed except for the flour. Used half all purpose and half light rye. Will be making again!
My dog will refuse to touch store bought treats when these are around. She stays next to me from the time I start making them until they are cooled and she gets the first one.

I reduced the salt, as there’s more than enough salt in the bacon fat.
I used 2 T bacon drippings 4T olive/canola oil, as pork fat isn’t good for puggle. Also put in oats, peanut butter, and a handfull of shredded cheese. Rolled into balls, and made them look like mini peanut butter cooked. Dexter loves them.
my dog definitely loved these….anything with bacon is a hit. I used white flour as I had no whole wheat.
These were so easy and both my dogs and my neighbors dogs loved them. Nice and crisp, don’t fall apart. Only thing I changed was not adding salt as the bacon has enough salt. Might try broth next time instead of milk just to try. Otherwise these are the easiest and best dog cookies I’ve found. Trust me. Your dogs will live them.
I have actually made these a few times just to see if they would tide the dog over until we got to the “warehouse” store. But today I’m making them out of necessity. The end of 2020 is gonna be tough. Its a good thing I know the dog already likes them! Thank you for the recipe.
Yuck! The smell of these biscuits baking was enough to make me gag. I did give one to my dog, which he happily ate, but then I threw the rest away because I couldn’t handle the smell.

This recipe was really easy to half, so I made one batch with bacon fat (no modifications) and one batch subbing peanut butter for the bacon fat. I used a small cookie cutter and baked for 35 minutes (pictured). The medium cookie cutter I baked for 38 minutes. They both turned out really well!
I made the biscuits exactly according to the recipe and they came out great! I just happened to have all the ingredients home while in quarantine, even the bacon fat in the freezer! The dough is wonderful to work with. I put all ingredients in my Kitchen Aid mixer, and it came out soft, not sticky, and wonderful to roll. I even had the dog bone cookie cutter! I will definitely use this again! It made 61 2 1/2″ biscuits. The only down side is that they have to be refrigerated.-
I have made these many times for my dogs and they LOVE them!! They like them so much better than store bought biscuits.
Added 3/4 cup bacon grease and 1/2 c cottage cheese. I have large breeds dogs and these were meant to be “snack treats” so I used a large cookie scoop and flattened them like large thick “cookies” before they went into the oven. My cooking time was 50 min at 350.
Turned out just fine! Only put a few shakes of salt in from my shaker. Realized I had cookie cutters after I made the balls. I made bigger balls for my spoiled pooch (:
i didn’t have any honey so i used applesauce an didn’t have carrots either so i used banana and it turned out really good i made it for my puppy named durpy doo for his 1st b-day he loved it an the other 4 did to they went wild
Very user friendly dough. No extra flour required. I used chicken broth instead of water. Dogs were going crazy before they were out of the oven. Definitely a keeper

my very picky dog really loves these. I’m happy to have that bacon flavor in it. I used cookie cutters but this recipe is best for forming something like a buscuit as it is doughy.
One little change-I also baste the biscuits after I take them out of the oven (if I have any bacon fat left!). Dogs go crazy for these treats-I make them whenever I make bacon and give them to friends. I don’t even have a dog but it’s fun to see how the dogs I give them to react to this tasty treat
