Superb! Perfect for summer sipping.
Pretty good recipe but a little heavy due to the agave syrup, I’d cut it in half at least, or add another bottle of wine. After two glasses we were really too full to eat. Sangria is supposed to be light and refreshing! I used a simple spanish Albarino which worked perfect, and I substituted club soda for lemon-lime soda (aka, Sprite), because the recipe already has enough sugar in it to put you in a coma! Oh, and add a few ice cubes, it really freshens it up.
Very, very good! We had a Sangria party with 3 different kinds and this was the first to go.
The ingredients are excellent but the proportions are not right. I used the two limes two lemons and 1 orange, but I put 3/4 cup tequila and 1 bottle pinot grigio and 1 bottle sauvignon blanc with effervescent water on top instead of lemon lime soda. The original recipe is very sweet and syrupy. When I put in the two bottles of wine I could actually taste the tequila better.
This was an amazing sangria! Love the added flavour of the Tequila! I substituted a simple syrup for the agave nectar as I didn’t have any on hand and it was just as tasty!
This was the perfect fix to the super hot weather over the 4th of July holiday. Only used the 4 hour rest time indicated but like others modified the sweetness index. Only used half the agave nectar suggested and used an entire bottle of Pelligrino in lieu of the 2 cups of soda. You know its a success when several other guests are asking for the recipe. Thank you!
Thought this drink was very refreshing. Used a Pinot Grigio and marinated it for 24 hours. Excellent addition to our July 4th barbecue! Thanks Bobby!
The tricks with this recipe are to really muddle the citrus and the mint and to use a decent bottle of white wine. The first round was a bit flat. I used a sauvignon blanc that had some oak overtones to it and I didn’t muddle ingredients long enough. The second time I made it, I used more mint and a crisper, fruitier white wine (pinot grigio. I don’t think the agave made it too sweet. The lemon-lime soda definitely added a great dimension to the drink but we’ll be experimenting with club soda for the next round.
Regardless, a great recipe for the summer!
It’s not bad at all, but it’s not delicious, given the ingredients in it, I thought it would taste better.
Delicious drink! Light, refreshing with great citrus flavors. I used a Waterbrook Sauvignon Blanc from Washington State, which adds some wonderful grapefruit flavors of its own. This will definitely be on my list for summertime drinks.
