Ingredients

  1. 1/4 cup orange juice
  2. 1 1/2 ounces Campari
  3. 1 ounce gin
  4. About 1/4 cup brut prosecco or other sparkling wine
  5. 1 orange, sliced into thin rounds and cut in half, for serving

Instructions

  1. Fill a 16-ounce glass with crushed ice. Add the orange juice, Campari and gin and stir to combine. Top off with the prosecco. Garnish with an orange slice and serve immediately.

I tried this as written and it was very bitter. I used less bitters and it was better. I think compari is an acquired taste.

Perfect aperitivo! You can play around a bit with ingredients to your liking (eg, if you want a little more gin flavor forward use a nice botanical gin and add .25 more ounces than the recipe, then scale back the OJ that same amount).
