Ingredients

  1. 1 1/4 ounces Simple Syrup, recipe follows
  2. 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  3. 1 ounce light rum
  4. 1/4 ounce mezcal, such as Del Maguey
  5. 1/4 ounce aged rum, such as Zacapa Rum 23
  6. 1/4 ounce Scotch, such as Lagavulin Islay Single Malt Scotch 16
  7. Lime wedge, for garnish
  8. 1 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Put the Simple Syrup, lime juice, light rum, mezcal, aged rum and Scotch in a cocktail shaker, add large ice and shake vigorously. Double-strain over fresh ice in a highball glass, add a lime wedge to the rim at 2 o’clock and serve.
  2. Combine the sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let cool completely. Keep covered in the refrigerator up to 1 month.

Boy, this is way smoother than it should be based on the ingredients!  I did sub.agave for the simple syrup. ..was too intrigued to wait! Thanks, GZ!
